Well it may be that everyone has to stay quiet until MS gets to make the announcement. But THEN they should come here so we can congratulate them personally.

Sigh. No phone call, no email, no snail mail nor overnight delivery of notification on Saturday (Feb 3rd) so I guess konashark & myself did not win anything.

Hopefully there will be some kind of a swag distribution, after the announcement(s).
I'm still holding out hope that they can spare a pocketwatch or puzzle box. That'd honestly be more lasting and meaningful than any of the prizes, proper.
20 years from now, it's much more likely I'd still have one of those than it is that I'd still have most any of the "real" prizes.

The space flight would be an awesome experience/memory. But I never really had any hopes for it becoming a reality.
I figure several thousand people registered, several hundred made it to the finish and, without going into specifics, my chances of actually getting a trip into space were about a billion to one.

something's fishy if no one between unf and neowin can report winning.
I would venture to say that between the two camps, we at least have a statistical certainty of hitting at leasts one winner.

Apparently, the sweepstakes administrators have a history of being slow to contact winners. I wouldn't expect the "rules" to actually be held up in such a case. We'll have winners from one or both forums, I'm sure. Just not quite yet.

Just to let you all know, This Gentleman is for real:
Quote:
I am George French III son of CEO of RPK. (Rocketplane Kistler) I am on
the Board of Directors as well as in sales and marketing. Do you mean by
"two posts" the one on unfiction and one on Neo? I like to be very
casual when I can in writing. If the people I am addressing don't need a
very professional write up I don't like to have a professional write up.
It makes it seem like I am detaching my self from those I want to
communicate with. The first post on unfiction was just a quick post I am
working on a lot of stuff so I really only got to throw up a quick post.
I had a little more time on Neo so that post is a bit longer. None of
the posts were planned to be made but I really wanted to tell people
that we all really enjoyed watching you all playing the game since we
were unable to play ourselves.

Thanks for your support. I enjoyed meeting all the folks associated with RocketPlane. konashark was also pulling for me. Would have been so cool to be the first dietitian in space.

I have talked with one of the developers on NEO about being involved in some Q&A in the skypecast with 42. I will gladly talk about anything that is not TOP SECRET if i am unable to make it to the new skypecast which is possible because I am pulled everywhere we can always set one up and I can get our pilot and NASA astronaut John Herrington in on the Skypecast as well. Let me know if that is something that may interest you all.
For those of you that were really bummed out that you didn't get a chance to win a trip to space we are doing business with another company that is giving away a trip as a prize. Check out http://www.freespaceshot.com/

The AMD front page says the winner of the meta is Audrey Murphy.

I don't see it, Rogi.
It's in the box that slowly rolls various chip pictures - middle right of screen. When it shows the Athlon 64 FX chip, it mentions Audrey. And ONLY Audrey. Links to the main VPG page.

This is just to clarify what i wrote earlier about helping relay info.
I have no part in picking the winners. Microsoft is responsible for the selection of winners. I also have no idea how many people they tried, how many times they tried, or any info on the selection process. We do not know WHO the winner is, or WHERE they are from. We don't know ANYTHING. All we know is the information we all got from the people who have come forward and said they won on the forums. I don't know any specifics. When i say I will relay information about winners I mean pictures info and names that I can get at the Official announcement on MONDAY. Thats all i can say about that because thats all microsoft will let out. I love there secrecy its sexy. W
