I wouldnt give up on the cards mate, still worth getting hold of them, just as much fun to try to solve even if the cube has been found and the game is "over".

end o't'line Whilst it would be nice to think it hadn't been solved, I feel this has all the hallmarks of a find. From earlier puzzle solves I've felt there were some clever people (replace with ian dury lyrics) who would go it alone and be the most likely to find. If it required a metal detector that's a bit annoying. I think we were told it wouldn't be detected that way, and I thought the blue wrapping indicated as such. Will be interesting to find out. The waking clue made me go to Wakerley first, last Thursday morning and as I've told geist or jeaneas I felt I was in the right place. Can console myself with having had such an interesting 18 months, learning about so many things. And yes, I do look forward to having all the other solves. Next time I think it will be in the US so we'll be over there.

yeah in awakening at 1 point it has "wakening this is important"
I cahnged my mind so many items last week to go be going as seemed to fit the clues but im sure that the FC told me if it was buried there it would have bene illegaly done and thought Mindcandy would not have put it there.
However seems that person made a mistake as im almost sure we will find out in the next few days it has been found.

We've never outright been told a metal detector wouldn't work. There was an assumption it wouldn't based on it's antics with the airport x-ray machine in 'Flying'. But in that situation it was actively wanting to not be detected, which wouldn't be the case now.

This metal-detector-proof meme predates that - I remember being told that people thought metal detectors would be no use back in October. Goodness knows where it originated from though! Ah well!

Season 2 If The Cube has indeed been found in the UK is there much point to joining in Season 2 for us Brits?
I'm sure MC wouldn't rule out leaving their next treasure over here (to keep us interested) but if they did surely that would be a bit unfair on everyone else?

First off, I can imagine that's just the reaction MC is concerned about people having. "Why should I bother?" Ask yourself...have you had fun? Did you enjoy working the puzzles, the group effort on the meta puzzles, earning the marks?
If they continue the "hunt" theme for Season 2, I think it would be in their best interests to have a hunt for multiple items (perhaps the "parts"?) that could be spread across the globe, giving everyone not only incentive, but a better ability to participate.

I must admit it has been a lot of fun following the story, even if the cube has been found, I didnt join the hunt until late on, so i will be happy following season two from the start and hopefully getting totally hooked on solving the puzzle, not long to wait

mrsE - you were only here for the money? Jeez, we've assumed from early on that it's probably in the UK or Europe and (I shall presume to speak for many US players) still played, because we liked the puzzles and the stories and the community. And I'll do it again even though I worry they might hide the next prize in New Zealand.

if it all over Yes this has been the most fun you could do with the internet and bits of cardboard so i'm be back for Season 2.
as for where stuff may be hidden next time even if it in New York us Folk for the UK are as close as plays in LA so it will kind of evens out.
but then will we be look for next time? the cube was a hook but now PXC got a fan base they could a more complex task like trying track who's be hide P3 and stopping them.

32_footsteps speculated to me at one point that we would only find part of the Cube in season 1. If that's the case, there could be plenty of things to find in the US, UK, the Moon... who knows?
Lost. ¾ of The Cube. Reward $???,???.
In any case, if the money's all you want... well, there's easier ways to make it.

I think that CT is Scarlett, and she has fled to earth, and next season's task will involve tracing her in the same way as the "Billion to One" card, I think it's all too convenient the disappearance when people are getting closer to finding out the location of the cube, and the hacking into the LoB site, she will be the most wanted person in PXC and so a reward for finding her and handing her over would be the least the people of PXC could do for season 2.
So that's my theory:
1 - Scarlett Kite = CT
2 - People getting close to finding the Cube -> She flee's back to earth
3 - PXC Find out it was Scarlett who stole the cube
4 - Reward offered for finding Scarlett in the old Cowboy DoA way
Don't forget, we never found out what this city was where CT was in the first place, all we know is a car journey, a flight, and then burying the Cube in the Woods, my bet is that the whole " hiding somewhere in the city" plot is for season two

Metal detector The metal detector thing was quoted from MC at some point, they said that using a detector would not work so until we know whether the cube has been found (with a metal detector or not) then we should keep looking and solving before season 2 starts

But we haven't seen any huge energy worm holes like the SF event. And since the Cube is here on Earth, I'm not sure how someone would travel here without a wormhole.
Of course, the 3P got agents here a long time ago without the Cube and no obvious wormhole. So maybe there is another way? Another Cube? *dun dun DUN!*
PXC make brain hurt. Go lie down.
