I probably can't make that weekend due to school. And I've flown to Orlando twice before, and I really don't like being on a plane that long. I would only have one full day to "enjoy" myself before flying back to the opposite side of the country where I live. Tired.

I personally don't care where it's held, as I'll have to fly anyway (unless it's in Niagara Falls, of course). Wherever it ends up, I'll be there.

50/50 chance of being a high school reunion weekend - but that's OK. Other people should attend the ARG-fest-o-con east!

I know I don't post much here but I can definitely make Orlando!
Any weekend would be good for me. Another suggestion if anyone likes racing is the weekend of November 13, we could all go to Miami for the Winston Cup finals in Homestead.

I can't make it. My friends are getting married that weekend. Also, I warned you about Orlando, Brooke. Wink

I actually think Orlando is your best bet - it gives people more than one reason to try to do this. There are only two long weekends in the fall and I guess they fill up quickly - vegas was a nonholiday weekend, remember. My reunion committee is still deciding between the two although I think a lot of people don't want a big trip for Veterans Day and then Thanksgiving, so that pushes you back to Columbus Day. You could go for a weekend in between - people are less likely to have conflicts.

Maybe a non-holiday weekend is better? Fewer conflicts and probably cheaper rates for hotels and air.

Sounds great to me, Orlando is a big area, what part of the city will most be staying in, around Disney or further out? There are quite a few different places to stay. Cool

A few of us will be staying in Mirlando, chasing hedgehogs with flamingoes and painting the roses red.

I'm hoping to take the whole week off and head down to Homestead sometime Monday or Tuesday. We've been going to the races since they started.
I'm not sure if I or we will be up Thursday or Friday yet. I can't wait to meet you all. Very Happy

I haven't worked out my classes yet. But if I get my classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I could come for a whole 4-day weekend! I might know by Tuesday... And IOA was boring the last time I went.

Although it happened informally, I thought it was very convenient that many of us were at the same hotel in Vegas - for sharing rides if nothing else. Meeting in the bar. I wouldn't make it the "official" hotel, but if you could suggest something similar in Orlando, that might be helpful. Not pricey but not too far off the main drag, and preferably with at least a pool . . .

Truthfully I would love to stay at the Hyatt in the Disney compound (the pool was amazing; golf, tennis etc), but since a major purpose of the ARG fest is group socializing and perhaps solving random problems that happen to drop in our laps from mysterious strangers at unexpected times, I probably will try to stay closer to the nexus of our activities and make the drive to Disney if I need to see anything there. I do need a new Mickey magnet, so at least one trip is required. Smile

Expedia can give some ideas on hotels and rates. Since I don't think we'll be spending much time in our rooms, except maybe to sleep, I'm going to go for one of the least expensive rooms. Probably somewhere near Disney.

I've gotten some incredible deals through priceline on Orlando hotels.

150 acre resort with everything was $40 last time we overnighted there. It was near Kissimmee which is on the Disney side of Orlando. Their rack rate was $225.

I could come for sure! I would need to find an interpreter who would come with me for a free trip to Florida for a weekend. Laughing
