You might not miss a huge amount Crimsyn, as some stuff will be posted here. The amount of exclusive WA content varies from game to game, and you won't get any physical stuff, but you should be able to get involved with the storyline, and probably the puzzles.

Well that's good ......
(Sorry, I'd have much more to say but I think that I'm a little under the weather, maybe it's the flu...)

so um, I'm guessing this is right, but in signing up, if you live in Canada, you need to check 'international shipping' and pay the extra $4 right?
(don't want to hit submit if that's just part of the purchasing template they used - there's no other helpful info on the order page Confused)

I'd drop a note to the SC addy (webmasterSPLATstudiocypherDOTcom) to check that one. I know I need to pay as I'm in Scotland - I'd guess at they'd waive it for Canada, but who knows?

EDIT: There's a update on the VD site ( Laughing )

Quick update for the WAs
Tuesday, February 6th, 2007
Okay, I've gotten tournament requests from a bunch of you (some more than once. It's okay, I got them!), so I've got you all set up for the game. If you haven't gotten set up yet, go ahead and shoot me a message with the Meebo widget, I'll get it the next time I log in. And even if you totally forget and don't get in before the tournament starts, don't worry! Ned's a pretty forgiving guy, I'm sure we can work something out.

Players from around town are also getting their registrations in, and it's looking better and better all the time. But I'll ramble a bit more about that during Friday's broadcast.

Oh, and it occurred to me that since you Agents aren't from around here, you might not know how to play Boat! I've been talking with Kevin, and we'll see if we can't get you something to help out with that.

Talk to you Friday!
Yay. Game On!

Conelrad online

Hey guys,

Looks like conelrad is online. I don't know if anyone else is checking the website and meebo-ing him...

Here's my brief conversation with conelrad:

Quote:
meeboguest262595: Hey there! I'm looking forward to the tournament!
conelrad: As are we all!
Rain: How many people do you think will be in the tournament?
conelrad: Well, most people in Parare get involved, but not all of them are serious. There may be 60 to 70 serious players
Rain: Sounds like the competition will be fierce...
conelrad: Well, they may play seriously, but only a few of those really have a chance of winning
Rain: Really? Is there something in particular that sets apart the few that might actually win?

... and then he went offline. I'm wondering if there's some 'insider' info that weeds out everyone but a select few.

Had a chat with Conelrad a few mintues ago on the meebo. He's fun to talk to right now just about regular life stuff but when I mentioned the tournament he logged off in a flurry of nonewinfoissupposedtobereleasedtillfriday!!!. lol I think it was just luck of the draw who got the tournment info stuff, cause i said essentially the same thing you did rain. Oh well. =)

Edit:

Well he came on again about 30 minutes after I left, and we talked for a few mintues, I got some other random info. Nothing important really.

Quote:
Abyss: Mr. Baron, he was in the tournament last year right? So why did he get runner up?
conelrad: He lost to Mr Clarkson, the champion of the past few tournaments.
Abyss: What makes Clarkson so good? I bet I could give him a run for his money Wink lol
conelrad: I don't know. Talent, I guess. Maybe just amazing luck!

Had a chat with him myself. Looks like Mr. Baron is Robert Baron who has a history of never-quite-winning the tournament and lost to a Mr. Clarkson last year.

Edit: *sigh* didn't see your additional edit, Abyss. Swear it wasn't there when I posted.

Quote:

me: Can't wait for the tournament. Bet you're busy with the planning, only three more days!
conelrad: It is getting pretty crazy, that's true
me: I think I left you a mesage before, one of those out of towners - I'm Karija. Thanks for the work you're doing, the website is great.
conelrad: Ah, yes, I got your message. You're all set for the tournament. And thanks, I'm glad you like the site!
me: Thanks, glad to hear it. Didn't know if I got this thing to work right. So you're a real radio DJ? Never had the occassion to listen to Parare's station before!
conelrad: Well, I don't have much of a broadcast range.
conelrad: And if by "real'" you mean "legal", then no. (The FCC doesn't care for me much. Shh)
me: Well, any broadcast range is better than none, right?
conelrad: True. And I really only broadcast for Parare anyway, so it's all I need
me: What's Parare like? I've never been.
conelrad: Typical small town really. Covered in snow, at the moment
me: It and everywhere else. Crazy weather we've been having. You work any of these shindigs in the past? Got any tips?
me: If they're, uh, trade secrets, no worries.
conelrad: I say don't worry about it too much. If it's your first time, just try and have fun.
conelrad: Though maybe watch yourself around Robert Baron. He's a very... uh, serious person.
me: Oh, definitely. Never hurts to have a leg up, though. Smile
me: He was the runner-up last year, right?
conelrad: Yeah, he just can't seem to beat Mr. Clarkson. He's been runner up more times than he cares to admit
me: Robert Baron and Mr. Clarkson, huh? Sounds like it's about time a lady took a turn at winning. Maybe it's my year. Wink
conelrad: It would certainly be a thrilling turn of events!

Oh well i just edited it so you're totally in the cool. We did it at the same time. But anyways, i don't think conelrad likes me very much, he won't have more then a 4 line conversation with me. Sad lol I feel so unloved.

Yay! I'm signed up. I can't wait for this to get going. This will be my first Studio Cypher game, so I'm looking forward to it.

I know these things likely vary with the game, but what do they send out?

Will it suggest that I drink more Ovaltine?

The last time they sent out a postcard with a clue on it. Most were different and we posted them to solve it. That was the only posting last game.

We've not had that one yet! Other than above, the previous items were:
> a clay token, which we had to take pictures of in various situations as part of a ritual to save a dude's life. (Game 1 - Out In The Cold)
> A copy of an old will, which gave clues to a hidden treasure. This one is still unsolved, and SC have hinted it may be revisited in a later game. (Game 2 - Perfect Friends Forever)
