Here are all the details you need to meet us on 18/02/07 :

1300 unlucky for some as was 1831 for those in Victoria's geometric garden where King Bill still rides every day. Shall we riot? I'd rather we had a cup of tea which was once shipped as cargo to these docks. Cool Huh Wink

See you all there!!

Pat and Dave

Pat and Dave say that they rather have a cup of Tea which once shipped cargo TO these docks.
The original docks were Boston
There is a Tea room called The Boston Tea Party

Here,s the link http://visitbristol.co.uk/site/eating_and_drinking/p_27071

Just a thought

I believe you're incorrect,

I think you're only assuming this from one word: "tea", where the majority of the clue indicates Queen Square:

"Victoria's geometric garden", "King Bill still rides every day" and, "Shall we riot?".

Also, the Boston Tea Party is "on the junction of Charlotte Street and Park Street, one shop from the corner, near the top of Park Street" which is a little far from the docks when Queen Square is right next to it.

The first line states at 1300 unlucky for some as it was in 1831.
Taking it as it was unlucky to be at queens square and not at one would you not take the line "I rather we had a cup of tea" etc as the place to be.

Or split in two groups and keep in conact by mobile.

The way I see the riddle, 1831 was unlucky. You just changed the wording a bit Razz

Where:
I think the best place to meet is on next to the water steps next to the Hippodrome. It's a good open place and everyone in Bristol should know where the Hippodrome is, if we do meet there and you can't see the water steps they're right next to the fountains, http://tinyurl.com/34gpf9
We need to agree on a location soon so could everyone whose going please approve of the location I've suggested or if you have a better one to propose it. Smile

When:
12ish?
We need to agree on a time of when to meet also. I know that Russell should be getting into Bristol about 11:20ish, how about everyone else?

Dressed as:
Up to you I guess, I'm not into the whole dress-up thing so my attire will be just the usual everyday clothes.

===========
If you need help in directions or whatever, please private message me or preferably talk to me on msn messenger.
Also, if anyone wants, pm me or again as preferred, talk to me on MSN Messenger and I'll give you my mobile number. This is basically just incase you feel like having a bit of extra insurance into where to go when you get to Bristol.

(Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to be a self-styled leader of this merry adventure. Razz)

Meeting Place

Is it too late to suggest a different meeting place? Tarim thinks The Hole In The Wall pub would be a good one. It's on the corner of Queen Square. You can see the statue of King Bill from it (if you stand in the doorway). If you walk from Temple Meads station (not far, walk down Redcliffe Way, over the bridge), then it's the first building you come to as you enter the square. If you want to brush up on its history then check http://weldgen.tripod.com/bristolinns/id27.html. It sells beer. It's warmer than standing around outside. It opens at noon on Sunday. If you walk from Tarim's house then you could easily drop in there on the way. Tarim likes beer. Err, that's it.

Oh and hello everyone - Tarim is sorry he didn't introduce himself earlier - he's been following as much of the story as he has been able to but it's only now (just in time to cover himself in grass) that he has the time to actually join in.

As long as Tarim doesn't talk like that when we're with Tarim, all is well. Smile

I'm aware of that pub, I thought it'd be better to meet where I suggested since it's a landmark and thus more memorable.

I personally don't mind if people would prefer to do that, I'll bring along my Yuki toy so that everyone that comes can recognise us.

I put:

"Hey Pat,

Well we believe we've sussed out the time and location:

1pm - Queen Square.

However, some believe you and Dave are referencing to the Boston Tea Party shop up at the top of Park Street, so a little confirmation in this would be appreciated Razz

Sorry we've not been in touch about it eariler, we've been more wrapped up in where you actually mean, as shown above and a location for where to meet before we head off to where you and Dave will be waiting for us"

A few people believe it's at the Boston Tea Party, which I believe to be false but I'll keep them happy with asking for a confirmation Razz

FAO, Anyone who's coming to this:

We'll be meeting at the aforementioned fountains (Closest to the water steps) at 12, we'll wait 15 mins for everyone to get there then we'll go to the 'The Hole in the Wall' pub suggested by Tarim.

I'll be carrying the Yuki toy so you can spot me out... hopefully.

If anyone has problems with being able to do this please say so here, we really need to set this up sharpish.

If you want my mobile number incase you feel like you may get lost or whatever please private message me. (Note: I will only give out my mobile number to the people who is going on the first post of this topic.)

Just an idea (I've played way too many adventure games and love set-ups like this) - but does anyone who is NOT going to be there, want to volunteer themselves as an on-call researcher if we need to look something up and can't actually find a computer or the time to use our PDA's?

If so, PM me your number, and I can keep you up to date on what's happening via text, or call you if we need help with anything knowledge-wise.
(It's handy working for a telecomms company - you get really cheap price-plans Wink )

I'm planning a trip that day, but the roads are terrible and most highways closed. So if it doesn't get any better and I'm snowed in, I'll be on the forums at least.
