Well, I watched the whole show and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. It seems things may not have gone as planned. Derek says things "didn't work out" but doesn't elaborate except to say that Sun-Yi and Matt are pissed at him for some reason.

There was some speculation in chat this morning that they (either the PMs or even the characters) may have had a change of plans with all the crap going on in Boston (guerrilla marketing => terrorism scare). I guess we'll have to wait to hear the whole story.

Derek posted this at MHC forum.

Well, the Today Show thing didn't work out quite as planned this morning, and I'm pretty bummed about it. I'm probably even more bummed that Matt and Sun-Yi are pretty pissed at me at the moment, but I don't really feel like talking about it right now. I'll talk to you guys later, or tomorrow, probably.

I guess we'll have to wait for his explanation.

TODAY Show footage

So, for the record we actually were on the Today Show. We were on during this segment, but just in case you miss us, here's a shorter clip that I labeled with our names. I've also compiled our experience into a little mini-documentary. Enjoy!

There were some technical problems, which I am not getting into here. Matt and Derek are both pretty touchy about it, and I don't want them to think I'm taking sides. On the bright side, we got to give away a couple dozen Monster Hunter shirts and got to meet a couple local fans. And we got to watch a live taping! Am I the only one who finds the boom mic guy fascinating? Probably so.

It's up now and if you freeze frame it you can see Matt in the background. Not much else going on though.

Matt and Sun-Yi at The Today Show
but who's that in the gorilla suit?

For what it's worth, here's where to find Matt and Sun-Yi (the lowest circle looks to be Sun-Yi's scarf). I've added a picture of her for reference.
The other thing that caught my eye was the person in the gorilla suit (?) just behind Sun-Yi. He's holding up a sign, but I can't make it out. Maybe a clue... maybe just a kooky fan.

Good observation driz.

But my first thoughts (questions) on seeing it were:

Why is Sun-Yi so small? Is she just a toy (doll) also?

I can't tell from the picture, but if I remember from the broadcast, there was a tall black guy with a dark colored coat holding up a UAW sign (I think that's what it was). There were several guys with similar looking signs with messages about equality or something.
