Firebox e-mail Just for reference, here's the official word (not that we don't believe poozle )

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for your email.
Our postage charge to Canada is a fixed cost of £25.00 GBP per order. So, no matter how much or how little you buy, it remains the same.
We ran a limited offer on postage for 18 months around the worked for all Perplex City orders, but that has now ended. Season 2 is back to normal postage charges and we make no exceptions, I'm afraid.
Hope this clears up any confusion.
Presumably, this applies to the States as well.
So where's everyone else overseas getting their cards then?

I'll be getting mine most likely from ebay, or one of the north american based resellers like coolstuff or myperplex.com

Wave 2 officially launches March 1. So does that mean that Firebox sends out the orders on March 1 or sends them so that they arrive on March 1?

If I recall, Firebox tends to send them out so that they'll arrive on (or just before) the release date.

Well just for proof

Hi Jon,
Thanks for your email - as they say, all good things must come to an end, and in this case, out half price postage on Perplexcity cards is one of those good things - postage is now £3.95 for everything, including Perplexcity cards.
Regards,
Gail Bishop

Well here is a good place to ask my question then...
Perplexcity.com says:

All good games retailers including Borders and Firebox.
Do you think that means Borders in the States? Online sale, or just at some stores. Because if they sold them online for U.S. customers, that would be just wonderful.

Not wonderful, expensive and unreliable.
Season 1 cards were £3 a pack at Borders, £2.49 on Firebox and as cheap as £2 in some Forbidden Planets. Staff and customer services are not exactly knowledgeable or helpful. See the discussion here.

BTW, the last (UK) Firebox catalogue I received had a voucher on the back for free postage. Mine was still valid the other day, so you might want to dig it out if you'd forgotten about it...

So is their a better place I can buy them from the states so I don't have to pay $10 shipping through firebox?

for American shoppers:
I preordered a few packs from someone on Ebay. However, if you don't mind getting your cards a few days after launch (I think it was 1 day late when I preordered from this site for wave 4) I would strongly recommend allstartradingcards.com . They just updated the site to include season 2, and they're selling boxes for only $90 (and $3 for individual packs). And if I remember correctly, shipping was quite reasonable.

Wow, on allstartradingcards.com it's about $9 cheaper for four packs. (I think).
Check my math...
Firebox to U.S. (15 + 10 (flatshippingrate)) = $25
AllStarTrading Cards (12 + 4(usps)) = $16
That sounds much, much better. Maybe I'll actually get involved this season, the cards really pushed detered me from playing before, (even though I was waiting since Project Syzygy), but now I know I can get them easier. Plus I know some friends who may be interested to join me, at least with the cards.
If there was just a store I could get them from... sigh.
Okay, I'm done now, thanks for the site!

An alternative is myperplex.com. For me, it was easily the cheapest place out of all the ones mentioned so far (although I am in Canada as opposed to the US), as I purchased 4 packs as well as rounding out my collection up to the blues for about $22US. If you are going to use that site, I suggest using coupon code UNFICTION for 15% off.
(Sorry if this is a bad place for this. Please delete/move it if neccessary)

Thanks for your recommendation.
I think costs for me on that site would equal about $17 for four packs, not much different from allstartradingcards.
For those who have used these (or other US) sites, how was the service? Have you had any problems with a site?
I'm excited to buy my first packs of cards.

I can't say enough nice things about myperplex . Trying not to sound to much like a blatant ad, but really excellent service. Maybe not the absolute most competitive pricing, but he's an average player who decided to fFeed his addiction by fFeeding other people's addiction. So you're sort of putting money back into the community -- and thus, into the game. fFrom a moral standpoint, myperplex is not at all evil.
Also the simple, clean web-design is terrific ... Sorry, I'm gushing. I'll stop now.

I will probably go with myperplex.
not that much more expensive for me, and I'm sure it will be the more committed seller, as he only sells puzzle cards.
Question though for those who have ordered before, if I preorder some season 2 cards today at myperplex, when do you think I'll get them?
