[new] Studio Cypher
Episode 4: High Stakes

Studio Cypher is starting their 4th episode. Go here to get signed up. You can play without paying, but you don't get access to everything, and you don't get the physical item sent to your house. Anyway, have fun.

Can we get the Studio Cyphers Sub-Forum pulled out of the Archives then?

EDIT: and here's a taster:

High Stakes
Quote:
A comedic love story of cards, kings... and accountants. Play Boat, Parare City's signature form of poker, to help an accountant fulfill his destiny and win the girl.
Can you discover the secrets of Parare City?

and, as well as the usual ARG elements (interactive, influence the game, puzzles, etc.)
Quote:
Exciting play against the Boat Kings of Parare City

The previous game, Studio Cypher Episode 3, that Township Heights chapter , I believe was played in a new sub-forum, then sent to the archives after conclusion*. We await the start of the game for an admin to create that subforum. If there is really that much to discuss before launch, we could ask to have this thread moved to the Potentials forum as a staging area. Otherwise, we're fine right here for the time being.

I haven't played any of these games, but the theme of poker may draw me in. Heck, I may even pay to play the full experience. Double heck, i may even volunteer to moderate the forum (when it gets created). I'm feeling woozy...

*(I was totally wrong on this point in so many ways, my apologies!)

Steady on there Catherwood! Worshippy (closest I can get to fanning you to cool ya down!)

Actually all three previous games were in the one sub-forum. But, having said that, there has been no cross over between each game, so it isn't necessary to keep them all together, so far. There have been some hints that there may be links back to old games at some point though. Either way it just seemed tidier (IMHO) to keep all the SC games together.

There usually is a small amount of pre-game activity, however it has varied from game to game, so it's hard to say at this point.

Email from Kevin
It begins...

Just got this email.

Quote:
Hey, cats and kittens!

It's just about time for another dose of the weird for our faithful Wakeful
Agents!

And, just on cue, Parare City has popped back up on the radar. I mean that
literally. We don't know why, but this place isn't always there. It always seems
to show up for their annual Boat Tournament, though, and this year is no
exception!

I know a cat named Conelrad who runs an intermittent pirate radio station there.
I hope you don't mind, but I told him you might want to join in on the
festivities. It seems he's made some headway on that front, so head on over to
http://www.voxdiaboli.com/ and find out how you can get in!

Win some for me!
-Kevin

Township Heights was a Virtuquest game. I don't think the Studio Cypher team would like that one attributed to them. Wink

Got mine!! Very Happy

Looking at the forums at SC, it looks like most of the discussion happened over here for previous games. Was that the case?

Yep. Almost all of the discussion was done on these forums. You should still check the SC forums from time to time because there are some players unfamiliar with Unfiction (can you believe it?) that post there plus Kevin (our SC contact) will post over there from time to time.

Whoo! I just signed up. Unfortunately I had to leave the descry chapter early last time because of school issues but now i'm back and super excited! Whoo!!!! So this vox diaboli page going to be our home page for updates i'm assuming. But from the message Kevin sent it sounds like there is already previous experience with these fellows. Or is that just "previous" information that we magically already know? lol Thanks all.

Signed up myself - and left conelrad a message on that voxdiabloi page.

Thanks for the reminder here, I'd wanted to participate in one of the first three CS games, but there were always timing issues.

The Cyphers will have had dealings before, but the Wakeful Agents (that's us) haven't. How much of the history comes into the game varies, but we're all in the same place so far.

I've been signed up for awhile so I'm personally excited to have my first Studio Cypher ARG experience, unfortunately I was unable to pay for this episode.
