[Grey District] Old Downtown - Roaches [Solved] New Puzzle New puzzle:
Quote:
The underground is always looking to grow its ranks. We need all the help we can get when we are dealing with these damn megacorps. Every pair of watching eyes and every set of sabotaging hands helps.
We have received word that a group of Roachers is moving through the area. As you probably know, Roachers are skivers that have given up on most things that we would call "civilization". They ditch their subcues and try to stay out of the way of, well, just about everyone. Pretty filthy bunch, move around the landscape like rats. But to each his own eh?
Some say that they are the children of the hobos who were around before the days of Deus City, and they just never got with the program. Wherever they came from, they are some of the only people who can routinely duck between the City and the badlands, on account of their willingness to crawl through the sewer pipes and eat garbage.
We want to try and get in contact with this pack and see if we can set up some kind of alliance. I tell ya, I wouldn't want that bunch coming to my house for dinner, but I sure wouldn't mind having them pull some recon or sabotage ops for us. Crafty bunch they are.
The hard part is going to be finding them. They aren't usually too aggressive, just flighty. We know they had temporarily set up camp down in the old North Access Compound tunnels running between the agrodocks and that old concert hall. We headed down there to see if we couldn't talk to them. We didn't forget to take a sidearm, and a biochem mask or two.
We followed their trail down a couple of old hallways, but soon came to a room with multiple exits. They must have been down here for a while, because we noticed some smoldering ashes of a campfire. No sooner did we get there than a blinding light was seen through the cracks of the wooden ceiling above us! Heavy footsteps thuded above our heads. The unforgettable sound of Defensecorp com patches echoed down through the concrete tunnels!
The Roachers were camped out right under a Defensecorp temporary operations base! Which way did the Roachers go? Who knows where all these doors lead? If you aren't careful we are going to pop out right in the middle of the D-corp temporary ops base! There are four ways that we can see to get out of here:
path one
path two
path three
path four
You can't afford to guess wrong, because the Defensecorp troops stationed down here won't play nice if we stumble into their laps. Also, getting lost down here would be a disaster. We are taking a risk by asking you to research this - but it beats staying here and it might be better than just guessing a path. So it's Your call! WE WILL ONLY GET ONE TRY AT THIS!
PS - YAY! They fixed the interface so I can see it at home again!!!

Each picture has a symbol on it.
Path one has a circle with an arrow leading down the path.
Path two has an "X" on the inside of the door.
Path three has a circle on the screen door
Path four has three lines scraped under the EXIT sign

Well I would guess it's one or three.
The obviously marked "EXIT" would probably not be trustworthy. And the "X" could indicate a dead end.

Process of elimination:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's definitely not #1: DefenseCorp thanks you for this information. You are a credit to the Agency. Trust that the alleged underground which provided this task is being dealt with, thanks to your efforts. Have a nice day.
By the way, any answer counts as a puzzle "solve" to this question, so you can't use the Agents solved window for an accurate count of successes here.

omg Underground killer!
I'll go for number 2 then, X marks the spot and what not. Let's hope I don't kill more of the underground...

I solved this one easy. Finally being a nomadic romani kid who hangs out with hobos does something useful for me!
It is Path Two. There are hobo signs drawn on each path. The "X" means that the path is okay. This was some oldschool clever business right there, but I knew it soon as I saw it.

It isn't Path Three either - DefenseCorp thanks you for this information. You are a credit to the Agency. Trust that the alleged underground which provided this task is being dealt with, thanks to your efforts. Have a nice day.
You have received negative Karma.

OK - Not sure if the thinking process was right but with so little to go on, I guessed that it had to do with the route number and number of line strokes to create the symbol.
That said, only one solution made sense.....
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I guessed Route 2 and ....
Whew! That was a close one. The Roaches will be a valuable asset to the Underground
SOLVED!!!

Um. Yes Brum. I already posted the solve two posts back. A little credit for the new girl, please? ^_^
I am pretty fluent in hobo signs. That said, maybe the line strokes had something to do with the decision making of the PMs but the hobo signs themselves and their meanings do not.
Oh, and you totally figured out my (incredibly easy) cipher! Doh. :p

hehe good work unimportant.
I just went with the "X marks the spot" theory, but I like your explanation better ^^
Oh and edited to point out that both of WolfHawks new puzzle posts have the wrong title =P
The puzzles are in grey district, not in white
