We have decided to make a sortie to Eva's home town, Bristol on 18/02/07. Since this is her birthday and relates to the subject180287 thingy, we think there might be something to investigate. Do you want to join us? It will be great to meet you all. We'll all have to come in communicado - i.e. 'cover yourself in grass'.

1300 unlucky for some as was 1831 for those in Victoria's geometric garden where King Bill still rides every day. Shall we riot? I'd rather we had a cup of tea which was once shipped as cargo to these docks. Cool Huh Wink

See you all there!!

Queen Square, Bristol
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Queen Square is a public open space in the centre of the historic city of Bristol, England.

The square was planned in 1699 and building finished in 1727. The north side and much of the west were destroyed in the Bristol Riots of 1831 and rebuilt. In 1937 the inner city ring road was driven diagonally across the square but in 2000 it was removed and the open space restored.

The north side contains the Custom House (1835-7) by Sydney Smirke; a terrace (1833) by Henry Rumley.

The east side contains some 20th century buildings and the Port Authority Office (1885) by W.V. Gough.

The south side contains varied 18th century buildings. Two are by R.S. Pope.

The west side was rebuilt in the 1830s.

In the centre of the square is an idealised statue of William III by John Michael Rysbrack, cast in 1733 and erected in 1736 to signify the city's loyalty.

Technically means exit meaning you exit your current location and head on over to... LIVE EVENT TIME?

this is too awesome.

Guys,

A sortie is an expedition and I think they mean incommunicado which technically means without talking to each other but I think they mean it as in disguise.

Sounds like fun - don't think I'll be able to make it though

Yeah, I think the meant to say "Incognito". I'll be free on the day, and have recording equipment with me - I just don't know if I'm going to be able to make it to Bristol. I'll be closer to it than I normally would, as I'm in Coventry and then Birmingham on the previous day (going to see Bowling for Soup, Wheatus and Son of Dork, then back to Coventry for drinks and stop-over at a friends house). I'll see if I can convince any of them to make a road-trip to Bristol - but plan was we go see a movie.

You never know! If I can turn it around, I'll have full video for you.

Oh wow, this is really exciting! Good luck to all who are attending. Also (to repeat the sentiments of others), if you guys wouldn't mind recording it for us--that'd be really awesome. Smile

I'm so tempted to go, but Bristol is a bit of a trek and I can't really afford it. Sad

Maybe those of us who can't go could join forces (and finances) to send someone who can go!! Laughing

Well I'll be driving up from Coventry so if you want to codge a lift, that's fine. I should also be able to get a camcorder for the event.

FROM:Eva McGill to Keir Jones | Subject: Next Weekend

That's such a long time away but OK it would be nice to do something on my birthday Sunday 18th. Not that it has to be like a date date or anything but we could at least pretend for a minute that we're normal and having a nice time.

Eva

Looks like Keir's gonna be there too...
