A dream of Sarah

Dear Pam,

Well, I cannot say that my slumber was peaceful. I awoke many times
with the afterimages of dreams and voices spinning through my head. The only one I really remember was of Sarah Wyatt. She was in the Willingham home, though it was furnished very differently, so I guess it was before they bought the house. Sarah was working on an object with her hands and as I watched I realized it was the statue I borrowed from Wes. Although the statue wasn't finished yet, it still was recognizable. As she worked on it she was humming to herself and then she began to sing in a clear, very sad voice,

"Father, father
gone away
searching for me
every day
A pain so deep
inside of me
He's in a place
I cannot see"

I awoke with tightness in my chest and tears streaming down my face. I
cannot imagine the poor girl's loneliness those last years.

I have a great lunch here at the B&B, though I sort of wish I had not
given the boys the weekend off. I am finding that I no longer like to be
alone. Ah well, I think I will head back to the Hollow Needle to see what Phyllis is up to.

Iris
