New blog post - "Sorry For the Clutter, Again"

The bottom hex code reads:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
47 then 13 seem to be rotting away.

I can't tell you exactly what order now, but after the 13 then 47 ROT, then switching back and forth betwen hex and decimal gave me:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The directories are all jumbled! Damnit! I knew this would happen. Someone in my team must be contaminating my information! It seems as if this has thrown you off quite a bit, my faithful little helpers. In /chasm there is a file called notes, correct? I'm sure some sort of guitar tuner could help you solve my little test. Notes will always be notes, my companions.
I think Thomas is beginning to question my sanity, I am afraid I may fall ill soon. If you want the whole story you must figure out the notes! The others songs are distractions! You found Thomas' pass..<<error>>..a while ago! You must seek the hidden forum! The evide..<<error>>..is dynamic! Please, help us!

ETA: Don't know why this doesn't show as posted, but the first
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
error code (Thomas' pass..) was 1.618. The second error code (The evide..) was 11235.

CRACKED

They had to force-feed it to us, but it eventually worked. The latest blog post tells us that we need to log into the forums as Thomas. The fodder.mp3 tells us that we guessed the password ages ago. 2+2.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
login: Thomas
password: cypherscythes

This opens up a few new doors...

Hmm, that told me "password incorrect" ... ?

ETA: nevermind, it worked now.

If it still matters, the notes in the notes .wav seem to be:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
a.b.bb.abba.B.b.g.
(where '.' indicates a longer note and the capital means an octave up.)

Another Email

Crap. I shouldn't have said the last one was easy. Got a new email from Thomas, and this one has me more or less stumped.

Looks like both capital and lower-case subs are being used along with a few symbols. Have fun, I'm going to bed here shortly.

EDIT: Attached it in TXT form since it refuses to display correctly in a quote box.

From the Nasa email in the hidden forum, just above the red arrow there is faint text. I read it as:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
We have confirmed its approach. it is years away though we must find a way to stop it. it's a fucking star after all.

ETA: Incidentally, both of the documents can be found online -- the NASA.png here, and the nasaemail1.gif, here on page 20.

I have a bad feeling it's polyalphabetic. There are two different triads, and the only word that fits __aa_o__ is NOAAPORT, which I suppose is possible but it's doubtful. The problem is, I can't use normal polyalphabetic tools because of the punctuation substitutions. I may have to go through it by hand. Mad Nasty.

Yeah, that's about as far as I got last night, AI. Keep in mind though, not every letter has to be ciphered. Notice the three letter l's in the first line. One of them has to be natural.

I was sent a hint last night after I went to bed. Maybe it'll help you guys:

EDIT: Completely forgot to mention this as well: The title of the email with the new block of text was "Horses eat fodder." So there was no significance in the bit about feeding the horses. Other than "keep working at it." Smile

Three tools in a message in the PM box: Vigenere, Dvorak and ROT:

And the signature hints at the Vigenere key:

Quote:
what is the subject? the subject is important! pay attention to the subject! it is the key to knowledge.

I dvorak'd and rot13'd to find only one plaintext snippet:

I absolutely suck with vigenere, substitution (especially poly) - haven't ever made one work yet...

Edits: lots of early morning typos, url snafus, etc...

The poem on the main page has been added to again.

Quote:
If the earth were ever to split in twos,
A perfect shade eases each side's disease.
The chasm'd be the most perfect of blues,
Lest the oceans come to reveal the breeze.

The core that creepeth shall remain a clue,
Of a kingdom lost by both shells and steel.
Empty caverns hold such a hellish hue,
For leeches know not how the victims feel.

The simple spiral of the stellar seas,
Shows an ounce of oceans below the storm.
And when the waterfalls silence the pleas,
A soft light will shatter forth from the form.

By schism has, and schismed will begin,
An eden divided by will and sin.

I got another part of the coded email solved. Thomas said to pay attention to the subject -- and his signature has changed to say, "hey, you know how emails have a subject line?"

I took the original message to vigenere with the key "Horses eat fodder" the SUBJECT of the email. Here is the result:

Quote:
Gpn! Ki upp;u fkqp nxd ydnu gbcp yxiipa igp .kygi k'pb xa ox''p.w hgklg ku

Cxcvici kkm' pukp!

Using the above result, I changed it to qwerty to this:

Quote:

Ibi.gig vvmq rfvr!

Lastly, the previous result --> ROT-13, giving us the first sentence. EarlyWyrm found the second sentence, earlier ( Wink ), now we have the first 2 sentences and part of the next.

Try http://splitearth.org/7/ which contains http://splitearth.org/7/moon.jpeg I'm not sure what he means by seethemicrososminmacrovision, but the moon looks like a O with the black middle. Also, if you look at the pic in negative, you see the word doppleganger spelled in reverse.

A microcosm is a miniature model of something.

The word at the top of the moon appears to be cosmic, while at the bottom, I want to say chas(m), but there is a strange looking F at the end...

The middle disk says "Deus ex machina."

ETA: perhaps the bottom word is Christ? -- Cosmic Christ

Alex Grey's Cosmic Christ

Edit again: Okay, on Alex Grey's site is a link to the MicroCoSM Gallery.

Quote:
MicroCoSM Gallery is an exhibition space for visionary and contemporary sacred art located in the Chelsea gallery district of New York City. MicroCoSM exhibits experimental art projects and artworks with a focus on spirit and transformation. Serving a growing creative community, MicroCoSM Gallery is associated with the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, CoSM.

The gallery is located on the fourth floor at 540 West 27th Street, just down the hall from CoSM.

I might add that March 3rd is a full moon lunar eclipse and Allyson Grey's birthday... "Come meet the artist and the muse who inspired and named the Sacred Mirrors. Celebrate a Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse, and a Birthday all in one night!"

Apparently, they hold a monthly full moon gathering to 'focus energy on manifesting a permanent, public site for the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors and to celebrate the creative spirit in us all.'

Code Solved and a new page

Okay, I have the solved code, now. Not sure what I did wrong last time -- maybe because I used a different vigenere decoder site...

Forrest was feeling a little bit under the weather earlier... I think he
should probably visit the doctor, but he thinks he's fine... I'm getting a
bit worried.

Anyway, good luck!

--Thomas

ETA:Thomas has updated his signature again - giving me a wee message - "if all else fails, try, try again!" I also noticed a link to a website on his profile that either I didn't notice before, or it is new... 13 == 7.
