Should I open the Season 2 boxes today?

Just before they closed a similar post over at the Perplexorum, mac-monkey suggested that this poll was an attempt by a re-seller to advertise his goods. His post has been changed, but he still implies it in his current version. Since they locked the thread over there I can't respond, but since most people read both, I'll reply here.

If rlp6028 had a bunch of eBay auctions up right now, I might see a point to mac-monkey's protest, but the fact is - he does not. (I wish he did cause then the people who prefer to buy individual cards might have a crack at getting them on release day.)

If I got the cards ahead of time, I would have been posting the distribution of rares, the number of cards for each color in wave 1, and perhaps some card scans. Then again, I know that my opinions don't always match with the community. It seems that for every wave release, there's always this question of what should or shouldn't be posted on the forums. I'm one for posting everything. If you don't want to know, don't look at those threads.

With rlp6028, he had the forethought to ask ahead of time. Notice he ran two polls - one here and one at the Perplexorum. That's because the two communities sometimes have different ideas about how things should go.

I don't see this as a advertisement at all. He has the potential to answer some of the questions about Season 2 cards ahead of time. That could be useful to people that are planning to buy buy cards on release day. How many packs and boxes you buy relates to the number of rares are in each box. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there would want to know if they can get away with only buying one box or have to buy three to have a decent shot at getting all the cards. He's offering valuable information, but just wanted to know ahead of time if it would piss people off.

So I disagree with mac-monkey and the Perplexorum who locked the poll. It was good of him to ask and he got his answer.

Well...

If you open it you'd obviously have to give us some *hint hint* but you could sell them on eBay for more than when there released but you'd have to market them as the hamleys cards...

No no no no no.
Honor system... Confused

Come now, where's the fun?! It's like opening Christmas presents early; YOU JUST DON'T FRIGGIN' DO IT!

What's 5 days, anyway?

BUT, for the anxious, read your Firebox newsletters; there's a sneaky-peaky.

I see phobia-matching! Very Happy

I would have.

And if they had chocolates in them I would have eaten them all, and made myself sick too. It happens every year on, or slightly before the 1st December.

Sorry mum...

Couldn't help myself... I got my box today, and I ripped them open... I'm weak, I know, but I had to see the new cards.

I'll keep mum though.

On the general thread of things. Does anybody know how to become a seller for season 2 as the link on the site has dissapeared when they rebuilt it?

Wow. I sent them at closing time of the post office Saturday, figuring they would sit idle until Monday morning since the USPS doesn't work Sundays. They told me 2-3 days for delivery, putting it right at March 1st. Embarassed

Glad they arrived in time for March 1st, just didn't anticipate it would be THAT quick! Shocked

Card Distribution

3 Silvers and 15 blacks in a box eh . . .

So assuming equal trades you need to buy 3 *boxes* to get the set (with there being 9 Silvers).

I hope tbh you were unlucky with your box . . . because at $250 a box including shipping to Australia I would be expecting to get the majority of the silvers - not 1/3. And there is no way on this earth I am paying $100 a time for a silver from Ebay.

I have an order with Firebox, and when it arrives we shall see shan't we - but if I get that level of rares it will be the last money MC sees from me.

Ever.

Did you pay the £32 delivery to Australia? Shocked Shocked They lost my orders when they raised the delivery from £2.95 to £32 per order (Even for four packs!!). £10 is reasonable for a box £32 is insane.

I did indeed pay the ridiculous 30 quid delivery charge, much to my disgust.

Season 2 Distro
based on 2 boxes

Here is my pack by pack / box by box breakdown on my 2 boxes that I opened yesterday.

I know I had enough to do 3 complete Red-Purple sets (I put those together) and almost 2 complete black sets.

Sorry for the messyness of the sheet. It was gonna be prettier, but Heroes came on and I ran outta time.
