I wouldn't place my trust in him like somaclast said, there is a chance he just could be all not there, but it's probably all a cry for attention.

Well, it worked. He/they definitely have my attention, and that of others. Another idea that crossed my mind is that this is someone's sociological experiment to observe paranoia, etc. (For example, talking about a character feeding on fear and paranoia and being made stronger by it, then proceeding to feed us suggestions about black eyed kids and shadow people, which are popular supernatural paranoias.) But regardless of what it is or how much I'm able to take seriously, I'm interested in what the people behind this want to convey.

I won't bail from this, the fact that the creator of it could be insane is actually pretty appealing....I don't think anything can be realistically done to anyone based on joining forums, I was more referring to the potential danger of driving out somewhere on our own to look for some supposed item.

If it goes quiet, he loses his players.

We've been through it being quiet and the boards locked. I feel very safe in saying that few players will put up with it again.

He has everyones attention, because he has revealed so little about himself and it's all such a mystery. I don't think it's a particular study either, I think it's just a group of friends that got together having a laugh or something.

i doubt that it's just a group of people having a laugh or somthing, i think it
1) is far too thought-out, and
2) has sat stagnant for far too long in the beginning.

if it sat so long, i think this group of people would become disinterested. as to how it is thought out, i don't think someone would go through all of this trouble - the movies, happycube, the stories, the Muses, etc etc... just for a laugh.

now, for a topic change:

the "iliketofix", "ilovetofix", etc guys are all the same, i'd bet, and it seems like a way to cover over his mistakes. iliketofix messed up, so he pretended to be punished/hugged/whatever, and up pops the same guy with a different name. i guess our interest in the game is enough to forgive him for his screw ups and play along with his story.

Aloha. Signed up due to being intruiged by the videos. (I'm maskalade on the Happy Cube forum).

I've known of ARGs for a while but I've never been as hooked on one as with this one, so for the first time i'm making an attempt to participate. I have got a few problems with the setup though, which seem to be shared -

1) Is this really an ARG?
2) How come it got so convoluted, anyway?

As much as I admire the thought behind all of the stories and the ties into Grecian myths (<3), I have to say I enjoyed this a lot more on a creepiness level when it was just the unexplained videos. I lost a ot of sleep over those things.

Meh. There are no puzzles or codes or anything typically ARG, so perhaps this isn't what a typical ARG is. Perhaps it's merely someone trying a new approach to storytelling. Right now, we've been given so little information that we can't tell.

I'd say some people need to relax a little, though. The idea that psychotics could be using this to draw out victims is a bit far fetched, if you ask me. Sure, it's possible in the sense that it could happen, but it sounds a little too slasher flick, if you ask me.

As for the people wondering if this is real, in the literal sense? Guys, chill out. At this point, I'm certain it's something entirely fictional, whether that means a game or some new method of storytelling.

Hahaha, I never figured it was real at all.
What creeped me out was just the composition of the videos themselves. They were disjointed, abstract... really creepy.
I have to say ilovetofix creeps me out quite a bit in and of himself, but not out of any belief he's actually a killer or a master of paranoia or whatever he's calling himself.
He seems a bit off-kilter.
Makes it exciting, to be honest.

Just a reminder that timestamps can be manipulated. So the appearance that it sat for so long is likely just that; an appearance of such.

I agree with Esteed.

The squeedleklotch LJ is IG, right? Fictional, but IG?

The timestaps for entries can be manipulated, but not the actual date of the creation of the journal itself...

So this is going to be on Art Bell tonight? People will be coming in droves.
Is it wrong of me to sort of miss the days when it was just a handful of us working on this thing? Sad

I miss it before the population explosion myself, having gotten in a day before that. :/

I'm not sure too many will stick around here, to be honest. Not for long, anyway.

Still waiting on that confirmation email....I suppose, with me being in the UK, Ilovetofix logs on quite late at night, say 12pm-1am GMT?
