new thread from Love

I was thinking that too, until the minor annoyances thread delivered such comic joy...

Happy birthday by the way!

Thanks mate.

I don't think this has been brought up in a few days but in Video #5 the head seems to be saying something. I think ilovetofix said that it is saying "something". Does that still remain true?

I know somebody who is a lip-reader who may be able to help. If this is not reversed footage, the first syllable is "I" (I think it's I'm) the second is "F" (the biting of the lower lip) and the third is an "M" This is either 3 words or 2 words, the second word starting with an F and ending with an M

To me, I think it's saying " I'm Feed Me" or " I'm Famous" something along those lines

EDIT: After watching this about a 100 times, I honestly believe it's saying "MOM, FEED ME""

Can someone post/ask ilovetofix this over at HC about it

I asked Love ask about your theory on what the heads are saying and here's what he replied:

Quote:
Two out of thee words isn't half bad.

And you've gotten all you need out of it, as well.

Well done D.

This is a shot in the dark but I think videos 6 & 9 will somehow be an an opposite of each other. Especially since this post comes one day after 6 has been posted.

could you or someone else post an audio clip of this?

~tmm

Love has already said that "backmasking" is silly and won't get us any more clues. So I don't think this is an angle.

Thanks for the tip warneverchanges. One thing I did notice with video 6 is that it's red instead of black & white (barring the text of course)

Sucks that I haven't been approved yet but a gamejacker-off got in with a box of Waffle Crisp Laughing[/quote]

What? It's red? Oh well, my color vision isn't quite what it used to be.

Forgive me if this is irrelevant or utter nonsense, but I can't be bothered going through all the threads to find out. Didn't it say somewhere that the videos were placed onto video cassettes? And if so, how is it that Jamie ended up with 'this video file on a dvd'? Does this mean that Donald Wilson made a copy?

I'm probably wrong, and nothing was mentioned about the format of the actual recordings, just thought I'd throw it out there.

This "ritual" is nothing of the sort. It's self-hypnosis and energy work, and it goes against everything I know as a pagan that involves safe working and aspecting. It doesn't make sense and it is NOT a good idea.

For anyone who tries it: I'd ask myself how much I trust the PM and/or Love. Do you believe he's telling the truth? I don't.

To sum up: BAD BAD BAD F-ING IDEA.

Hmm... Are you saying you think this will actually summon some sort of evil aspect? Not necessarily in a stereotypical physical way, but as in "bad vibes"? I could see it having a nasty psychological effect on those who are already partially unbalanced, but it seems like a pretty harmless exercise otherwise. I mean, kids do it to themselves all the time (ever played "Bloody Mary"?).

Exactly the way I thought of it, and anyway, doing it on purpose seems to me to be "safer" than doing it on accident, which I did a FUCKLOAD the first night after watching the videos. Seems like if you're fighting it but can't help but do it anyway, you have less control on your imagination, inner turmoil, that sort of thing.

That said, while I'm going to TRY to do it, if I start like getting a panic attack or something or just can't handle it, I'm turning on all the lights, closing the blinds, and watching some comedy until I fall asleep. Very Happy Shifty Eyes Foily! Drool

...yay emoticons? Laughing

The videos -- closer look...

Upon Love's reveal that the face in video 5 says "mom, feed me", or something close to that (close enough to be accurate enough), I got curious about the other videos. Watched video 5 again, and had a question for Love:

Love! Question for you. Video 5, I watched it again, to check out the lips... to try and see if anything was missed. I also saw what was previously said.

HOWEVER, I have a new question. Pardon me for being so excitable, but... I just... I dunno. Feel good about it.

The face switches mid video, to one that is smiling, or grinning... and shortly thereafter, the video says "We stand at the door"...

Is this in reference to Father Paranoia (the face and the text)? You have claimed he was "behind a door", I seem to remember.

He confirmed this with a single "Yes".

Sorry to bother again, Love, but same video -- "You cannot hide forever"... is this in reference to Calliope and or Maraino, or both?

I've not received a reply yet.

However, I've looked at the videos again, and have only really been interested so far in 2 and 4. Below are findings, again, copied verbatim from myself on the HCP:

Quote:
Video 2 notes -- 9 faces in total. One, then a screen where Seven pop up, and then One more on the next cut.

The last face, the last cut, has a look of happiness, but then becomes upset.

Text accompanying video is:

"Why do you hate? You are ill. We just want to fix you."

Anybody have any ideas?

Video 4 notes -

"You can lose everything. Nothing is priceless."

Sentences seperated by shots of heads.

"You can lose everything" -- To us? We can lose our world, and everything in it, if Nothing wins over Everything? Or maybe in direct reference to Everything and Nothing themselves. "You can lose, Everything"? The comma would entail it's a message for him, but...

"Nothing is Priceless." -- Reference to the book and or the video? They were traded for each other, so therefore both had value. They were not priceless. The book has also said to have been sold as of now to an unknown individual, but this is just one theory surrounding it.

The video also shows two faces, both are "happy", but the one on the right disappears, fades out to be exact. This causes the face on the left to frown. Possible identities?

Then it switches to a wide-open mouth, possibly due to feeding, or needing to feed...

Thoughts, anyone?

edit: Added colors to make quotes from HCP more readable.

Good thoughts Xerocalibur.

About the second video, I was wondering if anyone noticed that the Poser head(s) briefly become more realistic and higher-resolution for a flash. It appears to be the same guy that's on the right in the fourth video.

On a side note, after doing a search on TV logos, the Viacom logo that can be heard in the 2nd video was dubbed the "V of Doom" due to the jingles' unsettling nature. I'm not sure about the CBS jingle having been a "scary" logo, but I'm looking up old scary logos as I type this. I'm not sure if it's relevant, just thought it was interesting that of all TV logos, he chose the "V of Doom"

I'm paranoid about this thing as is. I don't need a ritual imagining creepy things, I'm already doing that a hell a lot as is. As someone completely logical, I'm a pretty big pussy, but I totally agree this is probably not the best idea.

Suddenly, I'm getting the vibe that this isn't a ARG again... I mean, it's good that people are all going into this ARG full on, but really, as Kitrona said, do you actually trust the PM/Love that much that you're willing to do this F'ed up "ritual?"

I'm gonna crosspost parts A and B from SA, of my theory on this whole thing, just to see what you guys think of it.

Part A:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Way back in the day, when I was a kid, there was a giant Wax museum in Dallas, TX, somewhere near Six Flags I think. This wax museum had a large section that was an attraction created by (If I remember it all right, it's been around twenty years) a psychologist who specifically studied fear in people, and how to bring it about in people's minds. Nothing in the place was animatronic, it was all wax, but the sounds, themes, lighting, things suddenly lighting up scared the ever loving shit out of me and my sister. And my mother. And my dad, in a couple parts. All based on the things this guy had determined produced fear in people. I was just thinking a little while back that maybe that's what this is. Anyone remember Eon8? Where that guy claimed it was some retard sociology experiment? Maybe this is something similar, but instead the guy is evoking fear, maybe to study what happens, maybe to teach a lesson, or maybe just for fun. Look at it all, he starts with the weird videos that resemble something out of The Ring. Next you find the message board of serial killers scheduling conventions, which is an old urban legend, made recently popular by Neil Gaiman, then he brings up "The Children" whose early descriptions resemble the BEKs, and at other times has referenced Shadow People and Aleister Crowley (for some old-school street cred), not to mention the viral insinuation that people have died playing this game, vis a vis the Red Room flash. He's using every internet/media fear-inducer out there, and somewhat skillfully and subtly, wrapping the whole thing around these made-up nine dark nega-muses, that I'm sure are just symbolism for the nine videos.

Part B:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I think that he's letting us write this story. Reacting to what we say on his board, somethingawful, Unfiction, we're even pretty damn sure he has a plant in the IRC channel. Like the whole thing with Echidna. That was a random comment by one poster, that the sixth video seemed to be centered around. That's why there seems to be no point, because it's changing depending on how we react to it.

Holy shit. WE'RE Paranoia. That's what the exercise tomorrow night is all about.

So I came across this by accident after reading a post in the Goons Confess thread on SA...
Quote:
Anonymous Confession posted:

I know what the Wyoming Incident really is and who is behind it, but I can't post about it because they closely monitor the forums (the whole internet, really) and would kill me.

(Disclaimer: I'm not actually a Goon myself ... in fact I'm not even sure how I started reading said thread, but that's beside the point).

And now after 3 hours of reading through and watching everything, I've scared myself sh*tless. Razz

Can't wait for this to progress further. Count me in as another person willing to waste far too much time on it. Very Happy

In contrast, count me in as one who isn't going to do the energy work Love is asking for. It smells of Wrong, and there isn't enough sage in the world to make me contemplate it.

I *was* going to do the ritual tonight, but after talking to someone else from the board, I decided against it. Messing around with something you don't understand can often lead to some not-so-good consequences.
But, I do agree wholeheartedly that the PMs may have a final destination in mind of where they want this thing to go, but they are letting the day-to-day actions, responses, and developments determine the path we're taking to get there. I don't want to say that they are "making it up as they go along", but they are letting us guide the ship with our actions.
And yes, there are a few posters on here, on the Happy Cube, and on the IRC chat who are In-Game. For a while, it had gotten to the point where I didn't know who I could trust or who I couldn't trust. But, there are people who pop up out of nowhere, prod everyone in the right direction with a clue, and then vanish again.
I am really, really, *really* interested to see where this whole things ends up.
