META: And a commenter on the blog has said "copypasta," another 4chan (/b/-specific?) phrase. If this is /b/-based I should probably quit looking at it from work.
Things that appear to be important:
- What's the significance of "256" not being reversed in the most recent video?
- September 12, 1988
- The note's writing differs from that on the polaroids. Which writing is his own?
Other things that are bugging me, but are probably not so important:
- Capitalized letters in the note :
Y, E, J. The Y beginning the second line is lowercase.
- How old are the polaroids, in comparison with the notebook? In the video, the polaroids appear somewhat yellowed, and the closeups indicate some "lines" that could be from aging (or flexing of the picture).
Quoted from http://www.polaroid.com/studio/storage/PDF.pdf
Quote:
In dark storage, Polaroid colour photographs are extremely stable; they show no dye loss, although a slight yellowing of white and light coloured image areas may be observable after an extended period.
- The notebook, on the other hand, looks more recent. Moleskines use acid-free paper, but the lines haven't faded or bled, and the ink (looks like ball-point pen) is similarly fresh-looking. Does this suggest that whoever was in the photographs is still around?

There's nothing stegged in the pictures that I can see. Two of the pictures were taken with an Olympus digital camera, and the rest with a Motarola (a cameraphone, most likely).

The Mayan calendar or Long Count, a span of 5,125 years, was further divided by the ancient Maya into 13ths, 20ths, and 260ths. The 13th parts (394 years) were called baktuns. The 260th parts (19.7 years) were called katuns. The 20ths of the Long Count were groups of 13 katuns (256 years) sometimes referred to as the "short count."
We are currently in the 12th and final baktun of the cycle. It should be noted that the baktun is not counted until it has elapsed; therefore, the first baktun was numbered zero, and the date 13.0.0.0.0 will occur after the completion of baktun 12 on 12:21:2012. Within this final baktun of the Great Cycle, we find ourselves in the midst of the final katun.
The Books of the Chilam Balam are the translated works of a prophet which lived around 1500 AD. This prophet's name was Chilam Balam, which means Jaguar Priest. The prophecy of the Chilam Balam supposedly foretells the Spanish Invasion, and gives details of the diseases and war that were to come. The prophecy cycle of the Chilam Balam is based on a shorthand version of the Tzolkin as Great Cycle. Remember that there are 20 cycles of 13 katuns. A cycle of 13 katuns equals 260 tun, or approximately 256 years. Pluto takes 256 years to journey through the entire astrological cycle. Interestingly, two conjunction cycles of Uranus and Pluto equals 256 years. Also, 3 katuns equal exactly 37 synodical cycles of Venus.

He's updated with maps and pictures. There are videos, too, but as I'm home from work I can't watch them.
I do like his writing when there are longer entries.

the sign in the comments section I asked what the sign in the 1st picture says (although I did phrase it a little weird) the reply was "it Says something already" after closer inspection I see that pictures 2 and 3 are perfect, while 1 is at an angle making the sign say No tes or perhaps notice.. I dunno if I'm just stretching for this one, or if thats supposed to be a clue, but staring at the pics isn't getting me much.

3rd picture? Comparing the map he drew and the angle of the third picture, it would appear that he was close to the wall that has the arrow pointing to it. The x'd out room called "Machine room".
The third picture is the only one that has any "motion blur" to it.
It seems that something down there is affecting his cell phone. Could there be something in the "machine room" ?

i guess another question is why does the "storage room" have a sign that doesn't say "storage room"?

I guess it's possible that the room was used for something else in the past. It may be an old lab that fell out of use. Perhaps it just became a storage room in the last few years.
I get the feeling that the "basement" was something very different in the past.
