[SPEC] Multiple entities vying for control of Subject180287 Are Psivolution one of the bad guys? Something about this whole thing has been bothering me for a while. Mildly when I saw the following chart:

but more so during the live event. While Frankie Francis seemed very nice, she never really revealed her motivation for helping us. In fact, her symposium put a lot of emphasis on taking CONTROL of subject180287 for our own use, with helping Eva being a by-product.
There is also the fact that she was called away unexpectedly in the middle of her lecture, which has not yet been explained. It sounded like she did not know the caller, but she left rather urgently. It could've been Brian Wilson calling her, or it may have been related to the presence of KenKon agents in the area as they took out Keir. Either way, Keir's chart still troubles me.
So far we have just been operating under the assumption that Kenkon are the bad guys. That they were after Eva for her abilities and nothing much more than that. But I think that Keir's chart may in fact expose a bigger truth. That there are in fact MULTIPLE players in this game, who are all after one thing - subject180287
If we look at the chart with that in mind, we can see that SRI, Youkin, and Kenkon - all part of the same chain - lead into subject180287. It is my belief that their interest in Eva may have been her natural affinity for subject180287 rather than any of the other weird stuff.
At the moment, we know that Eva is under the control of the Military Legacy entity. Namely some experiment left over from her days at Montauk. The chart indicates that this entity has no connection to Kenkon. It is my belief that Eva's reclamation by Montauk may either have been self-inflicted by Eva's emotional state, or perhaps triggered remotely - but the latter seems less likely if we assume that the Montauk experiment is no longer active (hence the "legacy" title).
Eva has a direct connection of her own to subject180287, which would be representational of her natural affinity towards it. Obviously, she is the one we are all rooting for, so if anyone should be given total control over it, it should be her.
That leaves us with Psivolution - an entity in its own right, that also has its eyes set on subject180287. Frankie Francis has NO motivation for helping Eva. She was clearly studying subject180287 way before she ran into Eva - and her studies took her to Montauk, where she learned about Eva, and moved into her own house to further the research on Eva's connections to it. That would explain why she randomly sent Voiphe to her, and why she seems so willing to help her, despite having no connection to her and never having met her.
Exercise extreme caution - we may be fighting a war on three fronts here.
Trust Pat, Trust Dave, Trust Keir (MIA), and trust Brian Wilson... for now. He seems to have his sights set on revenge against Melvin Geist of Kenkon. Everyone else is fair game.
To arms!

You make some good points. Perhaps the Military Legacy program took Eva to keep her safe from the other factions.

I agree, with the exception that a lot of the stuff on the subject180287 site has both the KenKon logo *and* Military yadda yadda on it. So I think they are connected.
But I don't trust Frankie at ALL.

Good point.

I still wonder if the legacy program is Eva's father.

Okay be fair, what HAS Pat and Dave done for Eva?
They said they'd help, they've done sod all really.
They got an invitation from Frankie, they could be working for her, trying to get information out of us for their own use.

The Live event?
We didn't actually get a chance to say who we were, and we weren't sure about doing so anyway just incase it'll freak her out because she never told us where she lived, the only reason we know she was going to the watershed was because we were reading her emails, hehe.

Pat & Dave would be the perfect characters to betray the group, simply because everyone trusts them so much. However, as Olly stated, we all like them for their affable nature--but they haven't really done much else for Eva.
However, I think it'd be really hard to fake that much goofiness. I still trust P&D, personally.

Pat and Dave don't have the intelligence to be bad guys. They proved as much with their hair-brained attempts to solve frankie's challenge at the live event. They are so far removed from normal society that they believe EVERYTHING is a conspiracy (or an administrative cock-up). The only reason they've been of help to us so far, is because their paranoia runs so deep that they have ended up uncovering a REAL conspiracy.
They are harmless.

Yeah. P&D are most likely characters written into the game in order to provide lighter moments. The comedy relief if you will.

I'm still going to keep my doubts about them, remember nothing is coincidence!

Well, remaining skeptical of everyone in this thing certainly can't hurt. Helps you keep an open mind. Even with the actual puzzles themselves--like my thinking on what the core is--I figure that it is important to not get too set on your own pet theory. Gotta be ready to change the theory to fit the data, right?

while we're on the subject of trust, can we really trust Brian Wilson. True his heart seems in the right place but his resignation letter proves he was in a position to compromise his morals once before and I have to believe were proper pressure applied he could well be used again
