[PUZZLE][SOLVED] www.subject180287.net/feedback.html The big weird textblock puzzle that turned out to be a stereogram So here's a new topic to wrestle with this one...
Please refer to this thread for Phaedra's analysis of code block 1.
Phaedra wrote:
However, until a certain point, the first, second, sometimes third, and last iterations are different (the first-third iterations are either missing letters, or contain a letter that is not present in the other iterations, and the last one is truncated). I don't know if it means anything, but here's the text from the first div section arranged to better show it:
jJosPOM
jJosPOM
JosPPOM
JosPPOM
JosPPOM
JosPPOM
JosPPOM
JosPPOM
JosPPOM
JosPPOM
JosPPOM
Jos
I checked this out a bit more, there seems to be some sort of gradual mutation happening, the final truncated iteration seems to partner the start of the line 8 lines down. eg: block 1 Line 9 begins POM - the same pattern is visible throughout the text - Admittedly I haven't gone through each line individually but it seems to be the rule, I have done quite a few samples but if you can prove me wrong please do
I have checked through and found that of the hundred blocks, 2 are different in that they only have 24 lines each rather than 25. This is visible as a kind of blinking of the bottom line of the animation twice per cycle of 100. (I think it's just twice) The two short blocks are 07 and 68
I also noticed some underscores appearing at the top and bottom of certain blocks in the feedback animation, so I checked the source code...
There are underscores at:
the bottom of blocks 50 and 65
the top of blocks 76, 80(double underscore), 81, 87 and 88.
What this means, who knows? Is it an indication of specific significant pages or is it to provide us with some kind of visual reference for tracking the animation by eye?
It also occurred to me that perhaps if we were to watch one particular letter position for the entire animation then it would spell out a message but on reflection a 100 characters long message seems a little unlikely.
I don't have the tech knowledge to know how to start trying to decrypt the text but is it possible that our solution is going to be a seven letter word (seems to be the size of the repeating unit) that will reveal a new (locked?) section of the subject180287 site? Not a clue, but it seemed worthwhile to report anything at all at this stage

Maybe the double underscore means it's the end of the sequence?

I have an idea on this one. Let me see if I can work it.
EDIT: Dang. No dice. I was trying a wheel cipher using "FEEDBEEFFACE" as the key, but it didn't work.
EDIT 2: As carmenmiranda suggested, I'm going to be trying to piece these together like a puzzle. Going to take a bit, thought, since there 100 type blocks. I sincerely hope it works!

We think the code blocks are stereograms a.k.a Magic Eye images Carmenmiranda and I have been confabbing a bit about the code blocks, and we think they are magic eye pictures. The trouble is that she is at work, so can't spend a lot of time figuring them out right now, and while it is the early a.m. here in Washington, I have a blind spot in the central vision of one eye that makes it difficult for to make out this sort of thing.
I'm assuming, however, that there are those of you out there who are not thus afflicted. Can you make out the image?
I'm trying to see if I can find a program to reverse engineer the stereogram.

It's a magic eye video of Voiphe bouncing back and forth across the screen. Easier to see if you use a black background
Well done you guys

Good work! Difficult to see exactly what is bouncing around on the KenKon background as you said.

nope, can't see it, I'll take your word for, either that or your crazy, all I see are lines and lines of repetative code.
Then again, I think people who see dolphins or t-rex in those magic eye posters are crazy too. damned crazies everywhere!!
Good work on figuring it out guys, but where does that leave us?
EDIT: ok, after staring at my monitor until I almost fell inside it, I think I saw a small bear bouncing around inside a small square room, please tell me that's what you guys saw? To be honest, you could have said you saw a flying sheep playing a banjo and I probably would have seen that too!
p.s. it's easier to see if you reduce the refresh delay in the script in the page.

As Ms. Piper said, there's only so much I can do at work, although, to be honest, it wouldn't be the first time someone here saw me staring blankly at a block of code.
...and I can't remember who is responsible for this, but I had to go out at my lunch and buy Jaffa cakes.
I don't know if it's necessarily a link--remember how we saw the shadow of Voiphe in her video? And now he's bouncing around the room. Maybe this is just to remind us that Voiphe is "in on it."
...and Voiphe was given back to her by Frankie.

I... think I almost saw it. But then, I've always been horrible at these sorts of things. Nearsighted in one eye and farsighted and half blind in the other is not conducive to visual puzzle solving.
