[S2] [Dice Set] #005 Ixtilton

Front:

Quote:
To celebrate the completion of the great temple, a feast for all the people was arranged. Ixtilton had been tasked with preparing a drink of chocolate and spices to be served at the occasion, but in the excitement and chaos of the day the storage jars had been moved around. In which jars are located the chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon?

(The pictures of the jars are scratch n sniff)

Back:

Quote:
This spear sleeps not on an island
Amidst a fog of air and water
But in a void, forever holding its breath
Waiting for a deadly silence

And when the song ceases this spear exhales
Pushing off the top of the slide
Falling down a blue-green well
No longer free of the forces below

This spear sights down, kissing the horizon
Then slices into its hidden shield
Formed of a furious wind
That scours its blade and sears its shaft

Wreathed with fire, this spear charges on
Rushing to answer the call of its colours
Whose banner is planted as a target
That emerges ahead through the blinding flames

This spear curls through the air
Trembling with speed, it sings
And in its wake, stripped molecules dance
Witness to the fury unfolding

With ten thousand others, it strikes
Tearing the earth apart in symphony
Until nothing moves or sees or hears
And this spear sleeps again, fulfilled

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I think cinnamon is 1, dark chocolate is 2, and vanilla is 3, but I'm not sure and can't double check at the moment. I'm pretty postiive 1 is cinnamon though

I agree but this answer is not accepted. I have had loads of season 1 card answers rejected recently even though I know the answer is correct. Any one else had this trouble - it is driving me nuts!!

Ixtilton

I have had an accepted answer today

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

1. cinnamon
2. chocolate
3. vanilla

I have also had a lot of trouble with the site not accepting answers when they are actually correct, but even though I was told they were incorrect, the cards showed on my solved puzzles page. I haven't tried any season 1 cards since yesterday though. All my bugs were with the new season.

I also tried:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

1. cinnamon
2. chocolate
3. vanilla

but it wasn't accepted, along with another S2 card for which I know the answer is correct. I'm also having problems with S1 cards, although they are almost all ones where you select the answers from drop down menus - a few days ago I was having issues with a couple of cards where I had to type in the answer, but these worked today.

There seems to be a general problem with the drop-down answers in Internet Explorer. They definitely work in Firefox (and Konqueror, if you're running Linux) - other browsers may work too, I'm not sure. You can d/l Firefox from www.firefox.com if you so wish.

Anyone know if there's a sticky somewhere describing this I.E. issue?

Is the back of this card talking about a gust of wind as the spear? I assumed that the spear was the same in all the stanzas and that they were related to each other. I am somewhat colored in a doubt though, as they text continually uses "this spear."

I guess I am a real anti-social, but usually I like to solve the puzzles by myself - except craziness like 13th labour and [6] billion to 1. But this isn't really a puzzle per se, so much as the back is a poem(s?).

When I got english major nerd on in college, I found it best to get different interpretations to try and get at what the author is saying.

In the vein of this not being a game, I could put forth the question of whether anyone also thinks that just about all literature in Perplex City is a puzzle on some level.

Stinky Card

I gave copy of this card to my five-year-old today to solve. The first and last were easy to figure out, but the center one was horrible. This did not age well.
