Well, out of all the weapons we have in the world today, what is always thought of as being the most "wrath of god"-ish? The atom bomb and it's cousins. So you could interpret the development and use of atom bombs as what the prophets were ACTUALLY seeing way back in the day, OR you could say that the divine always intended to work it's way through the scientific method.

Not sure how religion would play into an ARG about atomic weapons.

I wouldn't be so fast to say it won't play into it at all when one of the characters already used religious imagery and text to lead us to a clue...

Not to mention that Oppenheimer (you know, the bomb's grandpappy) was a huge religion nut.

We're just trying to bring up any and all evidence we can and perhaps one of us will see something the others didn't...that's how you play the game.

Ha! I tried it yesterday and no dice...and now it works...go you, crzybrYan09!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
So now we have a map, a progress report telling us that "Initialization" is 75% done, and boxes for three "sicurezza" codes...whatever they are.

Edit1: Okay, stupid me..."sicurezza" is Italian for "security"...now what's the Italian connection?! Rafael?

Edit2: *duh* And now I get "oppen sesame"...Oppenheimer...I'm a total doofus today.

(And thanks to SpadE too, if you hadn't made me a little miffed with your comment I wouldn't have posted my reply and we may have been waiting longer for this solve...seeeee, that's how you play an ARG)

No problem.

Looking at the source for that page...
Make sure your browser has activeX controls enabled.
If I'm reading the source right, the map refreshes constantly, checking your variables and refreshing based off of that.

Quote:
script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">

function ajaxFunctionReq(){

var ajaxRequest; // The variable that makes Ajax possible!

try{
// Opera 8.0+, Firefox, Safari
ajaxRequest = new XMLHttpRequest();
} catch (e){
// Internet Explorer Browsers
try{
ajaxRequest = new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP");
} catch (e) {
try{
ajaxRequest = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
} catch (e){
// Something went wrong
alert("Your browser broke!");
return false;
}
}
}
// Create a function that will receive data sent from the server
ajaxRequest.onreadystatechange = function(){
if(ajaxRequest.readyState == 4){
var ajaxDisplay = document.getElementById('ajaxDiv');
ajaxDisplay.innerHTML = ajaxRequest.responseText;
}
}
var query = document.getElementById('1').value;
var query2 = document.getElementById('2').value;
var query3 = document.getElementById('3').value;

var queryString = "?id1="+query+"&id2="+query2+"&id3="+query3;
ajaxRequest.open("GET", "id.php" + queryString, true);
ajaxRequest.send(null);
}
</script>

could somebody who knows Java take a look at this script?

::edit::
Just did some research
Ajax is a java app developed by Sun Microsystems (makers of Java), designed to synchronize information on a page with info on a server.
When you click on one of the text boxes, a map of the US comes on screen. My bet is that this sucker is gonna change depending on what you type in.

Judging by the 75% comment on that page, I think we're gonna have to wait another week before this is fully up.

But I could be wrong....

hehheh
this seems to be ajax
ajax is asynchronous javascript and xml, meaning that everything in the page is asynchronous(ex.needing no refresh to bring new info up)
this sets up the ajax objects etc., then connects and executes id.php with get vars that the person fills in on the 3 input boxes.
so basically if i type in "whatever" on the first box, that var is then passed ajaxly to the id.php, to be processed
we can't find out what id.php does cuz it's obviously serverside code Razz

More .wav files then? Let the hunt begin...

EDIT: That quote is from the Gospel of Luke...Luke 24:25 to be exact.

The Gospel of Luke? And on the Trinity login, it says contact Luke immediately...

And here I thought that meant Skywalker. Laughing

Maybe I missed this, but did anyone get anywhere with the code on the header of the page where you click on the word "Brunt" to get to the map? The code is:

DJGUI MLM OXS HTGRZX DY LR JXRJUY LKR IXRXFT

*edit* - Also, why the word "brunt"?

Heh...you are hardly a bad ARGer, Esteed. As I was clicking on "brunt", I got lucky and just happened to see the jumble of letters at the top of the page. I've been puzzling it over, but can't seem to get anywhere on the cipher.

It's not any of the ciphers I thought it was. Could be vigenere, but we'd need a key to make any sense of it. It doesn't look like there are enough vowels to really anagram to anything, either.

EDIT: If it's vigenere, "brunt" isn't the key.
