[ARG?] Cubesque

A post on a blog I read about the virtual world of Second Life said one of the "Lindens" or staff contacted them with this url.. seems very ARG-esqe.

So far I've figured out each pair of brackets calls the php script again with the (hex) number of the pair appended as a GET to the url.

I'm not about to click every link at the moment, so what do you guys think?

The breaks end at hex 0999 or 1000 (depending on whether you count the line stating that it is the end("the journey ends here.") at line 4096 (1000 Hex).
Doesn't seem to go anywhere, though.
Neither does "0100" (referencing the "perfection is not 90" page title).

It seems to be registered with GoDaddy and hosted at Dreamhost, which makes me suspicious about the Linden Labs connection. Those guys have plenty of their own servers, so why would they use Dreamhost?

My initial impression is that you'd want to click on the numbers that are perfect cubes (2*2*2=8, 3*3*3=27, etc), but after spot-checking a few values, that does not lead anywhere. The page itself does not seem to keep any sort of visible state (either with cookies or in the URL string--which doesn't rule out oddball stuff like tracking state via IP address, but that is extremely rare and breaks with NAT networking), so it can't really accumulate your clicks.

To me, it looks less like a puzzle and more of a color scheme picker thing. Clicking on a colored bracket changes the background color to that of the bracket, and without state information it would be hard to make that into a puzzle (unless there is a specific link that leads to something else... but I don't feel like investing the time to write the simple script to try all the links and compare the results--maybe someone else with more time and interest does?)

If the links were exposed, I'd use the import function in FrontPage to find all the valid pages. But, it's not and I don't feel like nursing my trigger finger for the next few days.
