It looks as if this is being offered as a class project for RL teachers and students. In that light, I'm surprised that it's starting so late in the school year.

Gala Teah has a new blog entry on the WWO community

Quote:
I wanted to thank wwo_mordy and rumpletoe, who have blogged with information about what we know about Nico here and here. Is there any other information out there? We need to pool all we know and it seems we don't have much time.

Rumple says that everySunday is speaking Bulgarian (so does colt_becker ) - but no translation yet?

I was looking at the pictures again this morning. The thing I find interesting is that they are still up. To me, this means that these are Nico's pictures. I think that if everySunday could have taken them down, she would.

Your observations welcome. Also any more thoughts about the Nico Dilemma (as I call it) as comments to Gracesmom's last post, "Nico's story" - we are still very much undecided about it. But Nico, if you are reading this, we are getting the money together, so all options are open.

[TOOL] IRC ARCHIVE #wwo
irc channel archive

I coded this up a few games and more than a few months ago and I dust it off on occasion. Since we actually do have a increasingly active IRC channel and I got prodded a bit to bring it back, here's the JWIV IRC chat archive.

http://www.angrygamer.org/~josh/wwo/

Current Setup
Logs are archived on a four hour basis with the exception of the first file which is everything to date.

All times are US Eastern
It is currently set up to pull and seperate out all URLs into their own file. If a need arises where it would be useful to pull out NPC names or mentions of specific things, I can easily add it in.

so has anyone asked why iniscool's photobucket pictures are all named eclipse07?

it's a bit weird isn't it?

Those pictures were discovered in the same post that pachinko linked this too - http://southmovement.alphalink.com.au/commentaries/Iran-eclipse.html
And it mentioned how there was a major oil spat in 1952 which was the last time the eclipse went over 'oil filled' countries.

I don't know if this is related to anything since the eclipse was in March 06 but I thought it was worth bringing up (and sorry if it's been brought up before. been doing alot of reading for this lately and it all doesn't stay in.)

I think that somebody mentioned earlier about this ending on June 1st. That really seems plausible now that we know it's being offered as a class project (which is, BTW, amazing!).

IMO, that may have been his only option, if he is leaking it as a (former) member of a company that will cause the oil crash. However, you're right... If he really wanted to do good, he would have gone to press. But people are scared, I suppose.

Also, about the new 'Teach' information... Cool to see how the game's gonna go. We get to respond to the news reports with our own stories... Very neat. I like it. Smile

Tentative translation

A bulgarian chatter and I had this to say earlier:

8:13:49 PM] Colt Becker says: get it?
[8:14:07 PM] snake eyed says: got it Smile
[8:14:18 PM] Colt Becker says: great Very Happy
[8:14:44 PM] snake eyed says: Very Happy I've heard it like that: [this is what I hear]
[8:14:53 PM] snake eyed says: get it- got it- good
[8:15:14 PM] snake eyed says: but great is just... perfect
[8:16:34 PM] snake eyed says: you'll have it tomorrow ok?

[8:19:12 PM] Colt Becker says: is that it? all she said?
[8:19:25 PM] snake eyed says: yep
[8:19:39 PM] Colt Becker says: wow. Okay.
[8:19:44 PM] Colt Becker says: YOU ARE A GEM!!!
[8:19:51 PM] Colt Becker says: thank you so much for helping me.
[8:20:05 PM] Colt Becker says: You'll read about what a hero you are on the worldwithoutoil.org blogs
[8:20:10 PM] Colt Becker says: thanks again.
[8:20:15 PM] snake eyed says: Very Happy if it's not enough, I can add something from myself or what?
[8:20:37 PM] snake eyed says: not at all, I'll do my best
[8:20:41 PM] Colt Becker says: no, lol. that's fine.
[8:20:52 PM] Colt Becker says: just need to know what she said in video
[8:21:12 PM] Colt Becker says: but yeah, feel free to participate in the blogs!
[8:21:22 PM] Colt Becker says: her's mine again: http://colt-becker.livejournal.com/
[8:21:34 PM] snake eyed says: Very Happy thank you
[8:22:03 PM] snake eyed says: sweet dreams if ur in Bulgaria

I think the key words are: You'll get it tomorrow.

Well, Des, Gala and GracesMom are all utterly unconvinced by the translation. 'too many words for that'. My take - are you sure it wasn't the translator saying he'd get the translation to us tomorrow?! I think Snake eyed was just discussing 'get it, got it, good vs. get it, got it, great'

After all, he says:
[8:20:37 PM] snake eyed says: not at all, I'll do my best

Just curious Smile I think the translation's coming tomorrow...

Shocked I almost broke the forbidden barrier I think. Oh too close! That is, I talked to gracesmomnh on aim and asked if any of the 8 knew about COST C8. She said she didn't know but what makes me ask? I almost said "because it was in worldwithoutoil.org". Instead I said that I thought I saw it in connection with worldwithoutoil somewhere on the internet, and said maybe I was just drawing connections out of nothing. She said she would ask a few of the others (Yucky and Des have been "keeping track of internet stuff" and mPathy has been doing a lot of research).

So since worldwithoutoil.org says "This Is A Game," let's all agree here that it's Out Of Game?
