I just threw them together Laughing If anyone wants to use them, then feel free.
I decided to keep them blank, so people could customise them as needed.
But if their no use it doesnt matter - it gave me something to do!

hey those are pretty cool... do you have a flickr account? If so, maybe you could post them to the WWO photo pool. That's some good stuff to share Very Happy

Good idea...I'm going to Photoshop some icons and various fun things. I'll post them on the flickr when I finish them.

Nico looked pretty nervous in that.

Wonder how important that laptop bag was to him. He seemed to be holding it pretty close most of the time.

heh, I just noticed they got my icon on the wwo.org page too, nice =) they used my Ontario sign "The Bruce Beckons", 3rd row. hee!

/me hopes there might be a hidden message with the names of everyone who owns the icons displayed on the page... Cool
but /me is doubtful on that

And... the site is liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive!

I like the old color scheme better. Wink

EDIT: This isn't a very seamless launch, we're going to have to suspend disbelief a lot for this one I think. Here's a podcast I don't think we're supposed to hear until tomorrow (though I'm not sure).

EDIT 2: This page is interesting:

EDIT 3: And this _definitely_ is supposed to be seen later, since it was made on May 1st...

Update for week of 4/30/07
for archival purposes

Quote:
Supply uncertainty drives prices higher

Fuel prices jumped this week, led by gasoline which gained over a dollar a gallon on average. Oil distributors pointed to several "renegotiated" delivery contracts as proof that a long-rumored shortfall in the supply of U.S. oil has finally arrived. Oil producers were tight-lipped about the adjusted contracts, and as I write this it's still unclear how extensive the shortfall will turn out to be.

NATIONS COMPETE TO WIN CONTRACTS

The news set off a flurry of activity as nations bid to secure remaining contracts, driving oil prices to record highs. Strong developing nations such as China and India featured strongly in the negotiations, while poorer nations were effectively shut out.

U.S. GOVERNMENT PROMISES INVESTIGATION

U.S. Government officials urged calm "until all the facts are known," and promised that the U.S. would "compete effectively" for an uncompromised flow of oil. Industry observers noted that national reserves are very low, due to widespread declining production among the oil-exporting nations. More on this next week.

QUESTION: WHAT WILL $4/GAL GAS DO TO YOUR FINANCES?

how the rankings work

Scores: The way people get a higher score depends on what they contribute, and how often. We're looking for your stories about how the crisis is affecting you, and what you're doing to get through it.

New Faces: Here we are just saying 'hi' to people who have sent us their first story. Well, OK, we rank them too by how we like their stuff.

Areas: The area rankings are based on a combination of how much and how cool is the stuff people in the area are doing, and how many people from the area are doing anything. Sign up your neighbors!

There is a certain amount of furry logic though, not to mention I suspect some of my colleagues will succumb to arm twisting and go in and fiddle with the scores Sad

I am, however, unsusceptible Wink

oh man so many comments to make...

first off did anyone get a very RUDE vibe from Nico? He sounded pretty upset that she didn't have more money for him. Makes me feel like if his old job can offer him more money he might join their side (and I don't know if we want that). Yet in the second half he said he was happy he told the 8tosc... just.. weird.

new site! I'm worried how this ranking thing will work. I already noticed that while i'm listed as the only one from colorado in the sidebar their is a video from someone else in co. Confused plus are we going to have to constantly be submitting our stuff into them?

randomly i like the icon i got for my post. it's graffitti. it makes me happy.

Congrats on this week's winners. My name isn't listed on the Netizen roll call yet, even though I know I've registered. Anybody else have this problem?

The comic style one reminds me of Sin City (the movie not the graphic novel) for some reason. It's kind of film noir-ish. I'm using it for my computer background.

Yay! Thats what I was hoping for ^_^

Have you submitted anything? I'm pretty sure that you need to submit something before you'll be listed.
