I missed the end!!

I have been obscenely busy for the past two weeks and got a bit behind on Geist, noticed the email from Prof Wilson and when I finally got back to checking the forum the whole thing was finished. Gutted.

Oh well.

It's been awesome fun, this has been my first full ARG (I started following the Lost Experience but got a bit bored of it) and its been totally ace, the story really sucked me in and the interactions have been brilliant (that phone call from SRI had me truly gobsmacked!)

Cheers for a brilliant couple of months guys!

Tim

I hope to work with you all again soon. It was a great game and I am sorry that it is all over. *I am also quite bitter over being forgotten in the credits, but thats the kind of thing to expect I suppose*

Lets hope we'll see more product by licorice films in the future - they did a awsome job.

Well I'll stick my two pence worth in.

I personally really enjoyed the game and had hardly any criticism - I think because this was my first ARG and had no idea what to expect. It was fun to just sorta roll with it and be taken for the ride. Hopefully I'll be able to participate more next time, now I have a better idea of the format of an ARG.

May I also take the time to say thanks to all the veteran gamers on the boards who helped a noob have a fantastic experience.

Well, I've finally stopped sulking enough to make a post... I wonder if anyone is still reading?

What a wild ride Very Happy

My first ARG, and what an experience... How can I ever play another one now? I'm ruined Wink It just worked on so many levels, all these little meta-harmonies resonating with each other throughout. I know people have been critical of what they see as a rushed ending but I really think the whole thing was a fantastically well-crafted piece of storytelling. Exciting, innovative, authentic and engaging. (Plus - woohoo - I scored a solve and - woohoo again - I even made the credits reel heehee)

I'm afraid I completely forgot about the criticism component of feedback on the questions.html and just gushed awestruck admiration... no more than they deserve in my view Razz

Can anyone help me with an auto-refresh script? my finger is getting sore...

There's something else that other people have touched on but nobody (that I have seen) has actually come out and said and I thought it was about time somebody should:

One of the most important things for me about the whole experience, apart from actually interacting with the gameworld, was collaborating with the other players, yeah you Very Happy

If I'm honest, most of the technical stuff is over my head, so I am a little in awe of carmenmiranda, (Mr)Thunderwolf, Jediwannabe, Cross_ et al who can apparently solve complex cyphers in inhumanly fast times with little more than a crayon and a piece of string (and in the case of TW, appear to rip somebody's head clean off their shoulders without actually ripping their head clean off their shoulders).

Also, the multimedia sorcerors - spysect, nitefoll, loving your work - and the forum titans - Sylvia, newb0y, Russell, drizjr - and those who fit into more nebulous but equally vital categories - RothkoWoofed, Olly, markzpot, jwiv, tim7168, Rekidk, daemon666, setters393...

And of course the most likely impossible to categorise Tarim without whose all too brief interlude of third-person commentary I wouldn't have vicariously enjoyed the live event nearly so much...

And the others who I have rudely forgotten to mention here - was there about a hundred of us more or less? Well it wouldn't, couldn't have been the same without you. Of course none of it would have been possible without Hazel and Jon, for whom words are simply not enough.

legio salutes you all!

now what?

Yes... These ARGs, as I've quickly discovered in my time here, are extremely community-based. I've met so many people, albeit online, in just two months that I wouldn't have otherwise met... And I feel like I know them better than I know some people in my real life. Smile

when they said to watch your mailboxes, i assumed they meant snail mail... only because they did ask for our adresses. but it could mean either.

Shortly after the above post, I've had a postcard stuck through my letterbox. It's a picture of Bristol, namely the big sphere and the fountains. It reads:

Quote:

Dear Jonathan,
Thankyou for all your help and friendship - we're... well... somewhere over the rainbow!

Eva & Keir

The sad thing is, I actually checked the whole thing over for clues afterwards. There are none Sad

Got me a postcard this morning also: Bristol, the Floating Harbour -

"Dear Legioninfinity, Thankyou so much for all your help and dedication. We're... somewhere over the rainbow. Hope you achieve your dream. Eva & Keir" Awwww they're so sweet. I hope they're using protection.

No clues here either although one edge of the card looks as though it has been chewed briefly by a small animal with no teeth.

Ya I failed to make the distinction between inbox and mailbox heh I guess I can stop refreshing now then...

Hehe just as I had resigned myself to only bills and flyers in my postbox I got the postcard to. Thanks again to all the production team for making this a great experience and definitely one to remenisce over!

I got a postcard from "Beautiful Somerset" (it features all manner of landmarks, including Glastonbury Tor one of my favourite places in the world), and states:

Quote:

Dear Mr Thunderwolf,

Thanks for becoming out friend and member of the Time Hole team. You're a hero round here.

Big love,
Pat and Dave

They knew I was moving house too, so there's a note saying "Please forward to new address" just in case I'd already gone. Wonderful!

Big thanks to all involved with this.

I got one, too! How nice! It said the same as legioninfinity's.

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And so nice that it was hand-written, even though their hands must be completely cramped by now.

Thank you thank you thank you!

And thanks to all of the other players, too. You all rock.
