Wait, hold on a second. Hackers, connection to nuclear testing/Trinity site, an agency that shouldn't exist, conspiracy, hidden headquarters?

Anybody else getting Visce vibes?

I agree

I want this to be its own separate game. I read those other two and they didn't grab my attention the way this one did.

I don't really know about Deus City or Visce, but hope that this is a separate thing, because I want to get in on the ground level of a new ARG.

So, I'm kinda putting things into order for myself, as far as plot goes:

*Set in a dystopic future (2021? I'm assuming this because of the screen name hacksaw2021) in which some sort of worldwide government has built a supercomputer which houses a "library of secrets" has gained self-awareness.

*A group of 14 hackers broke into the system, and since then been killed off, one by one, with only one remaining. (Although their cause of deaths seem to vary, i.e. car crash, drug overdose.)

*The government is now pissed.

But other than that, I've heard people noting the video as high quality, but has anyone else noticed how cheesy the SWAT-like soldiers seem? Their guns have shiny lights on them.

...and she keeps changing her location. When I checked it was Afghanistan.

I'm kind of with Esteed on this one...Trinity test site, hackers, middle east, bases....I got the Visce vibe too. But still....

Chances are, if the government is used in any ARGs, it's in the pissed capacity. XD

As far as this whole thing being related to Visce, I'm going to try sending her a message on youtube with the subject of Kane James. If it's related to Visce, that name should elicit some response from her, as Kane would be one of the elite hackers.

I would love it if it was tied in with the Visce site, but I have a feeling it isn't. I was having a good time with that one when it all just seemed to fizzle out. Sad

Now, there is a challenge for a PM team - a "happy" government Cool

Since no one has reported ANY response from the person who registered/uploaded the video, this seems doubtful. And I agree with the thoughts that this is NOT related to Visce - there is no commonality/theme between the two.

/me goes back to the video game promotional idea.

Although 'happy goverment' usually = 'pissed citizens' Razz
there never seems to be a happy balance, hehe

hm. maybe a "What's wrong what Pleasantville?" kind of mystery... perfect country - happy citizens, happy government... too good to be true, something's gotta be wrong Smile

lol
I know!

There is a place like that. I believe it was called Stepford Razz

So if it's not related to Visce then so be it...some of the elements are similar, but then I can see where there doesn't appear to be a bridge from one to the other. It would jack the story up at least. Visce was interesting starting out but there didn't seem to be enough bite on the plot and I confess my interest petered out.

I can understand your frustrations anyway. I've been hoping for awhile for something with real meat to it. Maybe one day!

The underground facility looks very much like a particle accelerator I've seen somewhere under Texas.

Hi All,

Being a noob at ARG's I was wondering if those of you with more experience at this could tell me if this is the normal way an ARG works?

It is over 2 weeks since the initial Hacksaw clip was posted on YouTube.com and we know that Hacksaw checked her account around 3 days ago, yet nothing seems to be changing from her end.

Is it usual for long periods of time to pass without something changing / being added?

Could this long pause mean that we have already been given all the information that we need to go to the next level but we just need to find it? Or do we just wait for the PM's to give us additional clues?

On another note, does anyone know how to read barcodes? Could the barcode at the beginning and end of the clip mean something?

Thanks for you patience.

We've already tried the barcode but came up with nothing so far. In addition, I was also wondering if this kind of waiting period was common with ARG's (since this is my first after ILB and my first on this site).

I keep thinking that maybe we missed something that was supposed to lead us elsewhere, but I can't think of anything. Of course, that's the definition of something we missed...
