Back of card:
Quote:
West
Fifteen miles west of the Stone Sleeper Crossroads is the village of Dee. In Dee they believe that the stones at the crossroads are the remains of a master thief who tried to learn the secret of eternal wakefulness.

Eternal wakefulness was once said to be a skill of a tiny sect of wandering scholars who originally came from Dee. The Deefolk tell that the master thief approached them one day and demanded to know their secret. In return he promised to steal for them any treasure they desired.

But the wandering scholars knew through their skills that the thief was lying, and so they told him that in order to remain awake for as long as he wanted, he must first let them send him into a trance of pure rest so that his body could prepare itself for the trauma of lengthy wakefulness. The thief agreed and once the scholars had entranced him, they left him at the crossroads so that, if he did eventually shake off the spell and wake up, he would not know how to follow them.

If the present people of Dee know the secret of eternal wakefulness, they are keeping it very secret indeed.

EDIT - From the card solving page - Errata : The last phobia should read "OPTOPHOBIA" not "OPTPHOBIA"

There have been browser-related issues with some of the drop-down menu answers. Although I thought they had been resolved since I haven't been having any trouble. Update your browser? Try firefox?
