Rookmarks
Shared Live RSS Bookmarks

I figured it is probably about time to announce this application. I've found that Firefox's live RSS bookmarks is actually a handy tool for ARGs. As sites (or subdirectories of sites) are discovered through puzzling or time-based reveals, everyone has to update their bookmarks. With Year Zero, I have found that people are really starting to like the live bookmarks that I made. The drawback of those is that it is done mostly by hand and while I am in front of the computer for a good amount of time, I'm not always there, so it can take from a few hours to a day to get updated.

Enter Rookmarks v1.0. This is an Open Source application, based in part on my solo bookmark work, but allowing multiple editors to maintain a list of bookmarks so that they're not constrained by any one person's timezone or schedule. The bookmarks are published via RSS, specifically intended to be Firefox live bookmarks. The source code for this webapp is available for download and a read-only example site is also online, letting you examine the administrative interface without having to install it yourself.

There are still a few rough edges that could be polished, and it's screaming for a WebTwoPointOh UI redesign, but it gets the job done.
