Think we might have one of those puzzles A La Audiophile on our hands, so decided to send Bishop a message inquiring about how things were and to get some hints. Has anyone checked out his profile? He's got a video there explaining about how us Greens were assigned because we were "flagged as kind of a risk..." then he goes on to say, "Of course, if you WANT to screw them over" and talks about the underground that doesn't exist. "Of course, what better way to find out."

Classic Bishop stuff. (I may have a trout coming, but didn't notice it earlier so thought I'd mention it at least.)

(And on an entirely OOG note, nice use of the DART system here in Dallas. Trying to figure out what stops he used. Think on Monday I'll have to ride both lines end to end and see what I can dig up.)

Sent Bishop this message:

Quote:
To Bishop: Bishop. I owe you an apology. I am sorry for my brash nature here in 2007 and that it resulted in a reprimand for you. If Assistant Director Prince really wanted to reprimand someone it should have been me. I only hope that in thirty years time I will learn more tact without losing my ethics and vigor.

And got this response:

Quote:
Bishop says: Sawyer says we should forgive you cuz your'e cute. Um.. how does he know that exactly?

To which I replied:

Quote:
To Bishop: Ha. Beats me, Bishop. Beats me. Maybe he knows me in 2037?

It would make sense that Sawyer knows me in 2037. Our rhetoric is very very similar and we both kind of approach the whole Deus City situation from a Grey District film noir angle.

Got this from Bishop. I'm wondering if this refers to one of the Grey District missions or some other agent communication.

Quote:
Bishop says: Yea theres something big going down in Dcorp, I'm still waiting on a timetable but then I'm kinda the low-man around here. Sawyer? I never asked him and his city profile is unreliable - though technically that's my fault... uhh... but considering he was a teenager during the war he's gotta be in his forties right? I'd ask him now but hes not here, he's tracking down a supposed black market for books based on some lead we got from one of you guys.

Might be barking up the wrong tree (again), but (in my mind), this message suggests that the Father Ziod / Physics of Immortality puzzle hasn't been fully completed, and this is another IG way of telling us that we need to keep looking.

I've had a bit of a chat with Zoid and have asked him to contact Father Ziod about the german connection that *may* exist.

Curious about this as I found a German term, and a discussion about how it should be translated into English, which I am hoping is possibly an alias for either his present self or someone else that we are looking for. Maybe Phil Moore???

Hopefully, all will become clearer soon, let you know what I learn and will spill the beans if this amounts to anything.

A day or two ago, I started thinking that slewth's agent number was surprisingly low, so I wrote Bishop to find out what the deal with it was. Just got this response...seems like a complicated way of saying "it means nothing", but hey--at least we have sawyer's agent number now. If that'll ever do us any good.

Quote:
The TIA sometimes recykes numbers, but that one is too low for even that. I'd expect that its just an artifact from the software that shaves of the first 5-8 Alphanum characters in the agent number strings... Sawyer for example is GD111842-3PI which to the system means Grey District Citizen number 111,842 Private Investigator Third Class, but when he scans in (Yea like that ever happens) then he's just 842 for the purposes of the tracking-grid coordinates hes in at the time. You guys are all on your own grid (0.0.01) so your numbers are artificially low, but when we scan in to talk to you guys it shaves some of em off to work right with your 32 bit interface. Make sense?

(And no, profile 842 is currently blank, so there's nothing there yet)

really double-messaging like crazy here...

Well, Sawyer wasn't very happy with the results. Got this from Bishop today--I was looking into the response I'd get.

Quote:
You hit the nail buddy. Sawyer got the press but he's still really pissed. You see he's not a fan of the recyke plants - he thinks that books are better in the hand. I dunno, I'm happy to scroll through it and you can't text search a book. It's a little unsanitary if you ask me.

EDITED: In response, I asked Bishop what the paper was being used for. And I swear, whichever PM gets to write for this character must have so much fun.

Toilet paper mostly.

So I asked Bishop to get me some information concerning Jenna Jansen, the daughter of Mary Jansen. For those who do not remember, Mary Jansen was the woman who was hit by the bus and Jenna was adopted as a ward of the state into that enforcer program. This is what I got back from Bishop:

Quote:
'm running into some major problems with your J. Janson search - its like she never existed.

So I am totally following through on this best as I can.

Bishop and some code

I sent Bishop a message asking about the morse code found in the Deus City Times advertisement, specifically asking about Nero Chavingy. I figured I should ask him since he is my handler. and got this back:
Quote:
Bishop says: Never heard of Nero Chavingy. What's the context? I'll look it up for ya

so I sent back a correction on the name I found in these forums:
Quote:
To Bishop: Well I noticed something strange about an advertisment in the Deus City News last week. There was a morse code phrase hidden in it that said Find Nero Chavingy, although I may have decoded it wrong and it might be Nero Chavigny. Thanks for any help you can give Bishop.

After a few days he finally got back to me
Quote:
Bishop says: A search on that name brings up some strange stuff with the underground rumor mill and some weird Nostradamus cult. Where did you get this name exactly?

Quote:
To Bishop: Like I said before, it was embedded in an advertisement in the Deus City times for Thursday, Apr 09, 2037. You say it brings up strange connections to the underground huh? Perhaps they're looking for a subtler way to get information out than the "ERROR DATA CORRUPT" messages, one of which happened a few days later with a link to a news article. Although I suspect the actual article is not what they want people looking at.

Hopefully he continues to message me about it.

double post I know but It's been almost two weeks since I messaged Bishop and he hasn't gotten back to me. Anyone know if that's in the realm of normal? Or should I try messaging him again?

It could be that he gave you all the information he had and there is nothing to add.

Chavingy; Theophilius knows more about him, I think. He mentioned something about a James Chavingy. I probably spelled it wrong, but it's off the top of my head.

Maybe he can help you locate him. It would make sense, the whole Nostradamus thing, if Theo is the one looking for him.

I don't know how many of you noticed this, but the last news article featured our dear friend Sawyer. I asked Bishop about it, and got the following (rather speedy) responses.

Quote:
Oh god! How many times do I have to tell him that he can't be anonymous on that sort of thing? I swear sometimes he just doesn't get it! I bet he doesn't even realize we got charged interdistrict rates for that scan in. I'm going to go smack my head on the wall now.

I told him that at least it might have helped alleviate people's worries and prevent the GK case causing general panic, got the following response.

Quote:
Yea I suppose, but he's gonna flip when I tell him he spent this week's cig and coffee budget. Maybe Sam'll give us a tab.

So I asked him who "Sam" is. I'll be afk until Monday, so even if I get a response you won't hear of it from me for a while. Vacation!

I had a feeling that was Sawyer; who calls anyone "doll" today, let alone thirty years in the future? The guy thinks he's in a 1920's Bogart movie.

Still, whenever we need someone to go ten rounds with the God-Killer, I know who I'll ask first.

On a related note, I asked Bishop to explain how the interface determines ID codes, that might be useful later.

Reading the transcript, it seems to me like it also featured our latest Red District contact too - Tandi Miller = Tara Mercer? The language they both use is similar and they share the same interest in deactivating chips. I reckon we're being pushed to try and get Tara to deactivate hers.

OK, Bishop replied! It's a long post, but might be very informative!

Quote:
Sure thing Misroi thanks for giving me something productive to do! Well there are a couple different formats for the strings associated with subque chips, the tracking computers see it as a string of 11 numbers (well... quick format binary but we wont get into that), and the sealed government records and bank accounts have a 47 string suffix classifier which changes based on a few thousand socio-economic factors, BUT... for you guys, the software shaves of the first 5-8 alphanum characters in the agent number strings when it sees the "TA" for temporal agents... But where was I? Oh yea! Sawyer is GD111842-3PI which to the system means Grey District Citizen number 111,842 Private Investigator Third Class, but when he scans in (like the ass did the other day! Cost us next week's cig and coffee budget for interdistrict vid call!!) ...then he's just 842 for the purposes of the tracking-grid coordinates hes in at the time, kinda like an old-world cell phone or the auto car grid. You guys are all on your own grid because you aren't REALLY here (0.0.01), which virtually is like a mile above the city (God complex anyone?) ...so your numbers are artificially low, but when we scan in to talk to you guys it shaves some of em off to work right with your 32 bit enter net interface. Oh but your question... the string that shows up for an inter-citizen public record like "WD123999-2PS" is as you say white district citizen 123,999 second class "Public Service". Make sense?

Turns out he's said that before pretty much. Though the knowledge that we're a mile above the city technically is funny. Wait, are we the God Killer??? LOL j/k here

(Sorry to be gone for so long- I had a party to plan and then a birthday to celebrate -mine- so I've been doing that)
