Just because Lex says it's a glitch doesn't mean it is a glitch...
Agent Le (the 2007 version) was the person responsible for Beck's murder, so ofcourse he will claim "glitch".

But even before Beck was killed he had black karma, meaning discontinued ID (happens at death I think). So it seems to me like the subcue that was used by Beck, is now used by someone else.

And even more speccish:
Since Becks karma was black before his murder, maybe the Father Beck that got murdered might possibly have been the second or third "Dread-pirate Roberts" (so to speak) and now a new person has taken on the mantle of Father Beck?

I know. Why do you think I'm looking for the person? Razz

Most of the more religious characters have black karma, but the PMs leaving it black does leave that bit out for speculation. I personally thought it was Theo, due to the "my friend" and the book reference, but I am probably wrong.

If it is Beck, and he's not really dead, he's in hiding. Or someone else picked up the mantle, as Wang suggested Smile

Anyone who knows him want to send a message?

More on Citizen GD000170-2CP, from the Bish's mouth...

Quote:
If I recall my indexes correctly, PC means "Private Citizen" and MN means "Media News" and CP means "City Priest" and so on... My number from YOUR perspective is probably something like 000232, but that's not my Sub-Q #, its my virtual temporal interface ID. I'm not tellin' what my real one is.

In short, that #170 you gave me is NOT a proper S-Q Ident # - it's screwy. The #s ARE assigned at chipping (birth for babies) but that one... is TOO low. In short... is a fake, unless somebody figured out how to use a TIA account to make a vid call.

More of the same, I got this message responding to a comment where Bishop sort of implied Sawyer's an alcoholic.

Quote:
Yea well there are all sorts of addictions. Alcohol, Cigs, Sex, hell even coffee. I don't think theres a helpline for that though. You know its funny - they say those things are anonymous, but that's entirely impossible. I mean how can you make a vid call without it being logged! I mean I suppose if you used somebody else to call in FOR you, but then they would be tracked as a pervert drunk with lung cancer. Well unless they were dead or something and you somehow... OH MY GOD. I GOTTA GO.

Sure sounds like someone's using Father Beck's info to become a "ghost in the machine." Maybe that's what the God-Killer is doing, amassing the chips of the deceased so he can move about the grid unnoticed.

So I got this from Bishop in response to a question I had about if Sawyer and he could go to Red District:

Quote:
Bishop says: We can go - for the price of a train. Though the redline is a bit pricey we find reason to occasionally. Why do you ask? Need something?

Well... does anyone know of anything we need?

I just sent a pm to Bishop about one of the things brought up in the daily news feed.

Quote:
To Bishop: Hi Bishop,

I haven't bugged you for a while so I figured I'd throw this one at you; one of the red agents pointed it out in the forum:
<quote>On 5/26/37 in the article
HFU Sermon Transcript - it says "I accept it on behalf of the six million Deus City people, my brave countrymen and women inside Deus City".

In this article it says "The 2033 study revealed that depression affects nearly a quarter million of Deus City working women - a staggering 51 percent of women in the workplace."

So there are 6 million people in DC, but only 500,000 working women?</quote>
What IS the story here? What is the ratio of men to women in Deus City? What is the ratio of working men to working women?

These questions intrigue me. Either a lot of women don't work, or the m-f population is WAY out of whack. I'll let you know if I get an answer.

I also suck at "forum code" which is why there are weird quote marks in my pm.

Edit 6-28: finally got a response from Bishop:

Quote:
Bishop says: You've been doing your homework... nice job.

First let me say that statistics tend to be... a little flexible around here depending on which corp is giving the news... that said, here's some demographic data for ya straight from the govt. feed a while back:

>>>DEMOGRAPHIC DATA FOR DISTRICT WHITE S-Q
>>>2021-2037 <INCLUSIVE>
>>>TOTAL POPULATION = 56,051
>>>NEO ACTIV = 8,824
>>>DEACT = 5,935
>>>MALE........62%
>>>AVG DEACT AGE = 81
>>>FEMALE......38%
>>>AVG DEACT AGE = 86
>>>
>>>DEMOGRAPHIC DATA FOR DISTRICT GREY S-Q
>>>2021-2037 <INCLUSIVE>
>>>TOTAL POPULATION = 2,403,672
>>>NEO ACTIV = 532,054
>>>DEACT = 849,204
>>>MALE........67%
>>>AVG DEACT AGE = 68
>>>FEMALE......33%
>>>AVG DEACT AGE = 83
>>>

As for why so few women work... well uh, I guess you'd have to ask them. One of the handlers is a woman... oh and so is Senator Mandrel for that matter. But for the most part women don't have to so they don't I guess. As for gals like Sam... well I guess there's always your rebels eh?

There is a HUGE difference in population between the Grey and White districts as well as between male deaths(?).

I do hope "AVG DEACT AGE" means natural death deactivating the subcue rather than the subcue being deactivated to cause death!!!

Another hint for 'block run' if he's got one.

YIPEE!!!!!

Bishop says: Hey t-... according to the memo I got before the blackout, we are about at the threshold point with agents where we'll be reviewing the activity logs and nominating class 3 handlers for '07 interaction of low-level priority action items and splitting out the agents into rankings of various sorts. I'm not sure what that means (I just work here) but it sounds exciting... and if it reduces MY paperwork then I say razzo!

Sniffing in Grey District video

I did a quick search through the various threads here, and didn't find anything, so...

Did anyone notice that someone was apparently "eavesdropping" (I'm not sure what the IG word would be) on the "Welcome to Grey District" video? At 1:02 in the video, "Unlicensed Sniffer Detected" shows up in red letters at the bottom of the screen. At 2:25, "Fine Assessed: GD118429-4PI" appears. Then, at 2:54, "Fine Debited - Thank You" shows up in green.

I sent a message to Bishop asking about this, and about who GD118429-4PI was. His response:

Quote:
Bishop says: last message concerns me... what can you tell me about "sniffing"?

Edit: I should read my own writing. Apparently, the IG word is "sniffing"...

Hrm...didn't notice that text.

Anyway, yes--that does concern Bishop. He has given out a protocol to people he trusts within the system called the "sniffer"--if, after sending his private message box the install code, you start messages with <sniffme> it can't be observed by other people in the system.

Anything without that can be read by people with enough interface access like Foo or Chris. Looks like it may have some additional uses, as well.

I take it, then, that my next goal should be to get Bishop to trust me enough to give me the protocol. Thus far, I am untrusted by all (but distrusted by none). Smile
