No, the interface hasn't started up again. Sad Just trying to ease the boredom with a little info to think about...this is from about a month ago - nothing tooo important.

So apparently there's a lot of unknown unsolved tasks in the red and blue districts right now, we're just too lowly to find them. Anyway, something to ponder while we stare blankly at the interface...

 		well i can tell you for a fact that yellow karma and 690 prestige give you access to absolutely nothing extra, so he must mean white or grey karma and 10000 prestige.

if only i could get white karma, then i could access foo's pot garden in the white district.

 		Apperantly, you can gain 1 Prestige for every edit you do. Even if you don't type in anything. Just do a script for that and you can avoid the horrible, horrible spam. Oh, and send it over to me.

[Alternatively, this could also show one thing: Prestige may in fact mean nothing, and that Deus City wants us to think it means something...but why?]

Would think this would go without saying (and I only mention this because it seems someone's already taken your hint), but it'd be nice to work on the honor system and keep this to a minimum as the whole presitge system is kind of pointless if every new player gets 10000 presitge to begin with. Would also make any rewards from you know who pointless - as credits appear to be worthless, prestige and trust seem to be the only thing that matters until bishop opens a general store.

I know this was mentioned to Deuscitybugs, so maybe it'll get fixed soon, but until then - if you want prestige just do what I do and write incredibly retarded posts all day every day. Very Happy

Edit: without spamming the board, of course, please! yay!

 		Yes, the edit problem was fixed once already. It reappeared after they made some kind of update recently.

 		Well, it's been mentioned and the response was "working on it." So... I guess they know, but don't have time to fix it.

This silence still is annoying though.

Ah well. Anybody want a nice nectarine? I don't eat them, but there's one on my dining room table and I don't know why...

Yeah, I noticed the edit/prestige bug, messaged them about it, got a "we'll look into it" in reply... and that was a month and a half ago. :p

 		Sadly, my mother ate the nectarine. Which explains why it was on the table (she wanted to have it for breakfast).

 		I dunno kids. I have not seen a damn thing after monkeywrenching the prestige system. Everything pretty much looks the same, unless there is something that I am overlooking.

A known "terrorist" surpassing the Assistant Director of the Temporal Intelligence Agency? No uproar? The flaw in the system is exposed, blah blah blah. Thus the purpose of the monkeywrenching. Personally I expected some kind of, I dunno, backlash from the IG characters. Nope, nothing thus far. I guess since I have already monkeywrenched the prestisge system I could theoretically do it again up to the 10000 mark, though that seems ridiculous to me. But I know at my current rating there are no new tasks listed anywhere that I have found. Since I am technically considered a terrorist and criminal IG it would not be any big deal to take some kind of IG flack for the action either. So if you kids want me to take advantage of that and pursue the issue further I will.

The other possibility is that much like karma color changes, prestige related changes to one's view of the interface do not change automatically but need to be manually changed by the PMs in charge of programming it and everything. So like just because one hits a prestige mark means nothing until the programmer goes in and actually turns on your access. Because I cannot imagine ADPrince not having access to TIA tasks on the interface. Not at all.

Now that I think about it...not really.

Prestige is a stat that represent how much fame you have on the Interface. How much people know about you. Just because the Corporation hates you doesn't mean they'll rig "prestige" against you and make sure they are at top and that you are at bottom (that's what Karma is for). They could be using this to track how much influence and power and fame you got via The Union. It may very well be "flavor" rather than meaning anything, and may only be useful in character interactions, which we don't really have since the whole "storm".

Just because more people know of you than they know of ADPrince doesn't mean they actually like you IG. Smile

I don't think this is true. For most of us lowly grunts prestige is granted with each task you complete and each post you make in the interface forums. I have a fairly high prestige rating and I'm pretty much nothing in the interface other than chatty at times.
