[TRAILHEAD?] The Five Points Have Been Connected
ARGish weirdness on MySpace...

I just spotted a post on Something Awful about a possible blog that doesn't seem to have been mentioned here as yet. I can't be bothered to read through the SA thread or the myspace blogs in detail at the moment but I've skimmed them and think I have the gist.

Basically, a few people seem to have received bizarre messages (eg "The Five Points Have Been Connected") from a MySpace profile with a blog full of entries about murder. The locations of the killings seem to correspond to a pentagram when plotted on a map (one to White Sands missile range; hooked me in for a bit 'cos I thought it had something to do with Visce Shocked ). There're also five videos in the MySpace profile, but they're all very vague. Add to this a lot of split personality oddness and additional IG characters popping up, and it's all extremely strange.

Anyway, I need to sleep so I'll leave it at that but thought I should share in case anyone was interested. I'm not sure if I'm up for following this because I can see it turning out the same as WI (especially with the clear possibility of SA involvement, short lo-fi videos, and talk of account hacking) but I might reassess tomorrow. It does look like it at least has some promise.

MySpace (1) - http://www.myspace.com/mikedmcgee82
MySpace (2) - a second IG character called HeyZeus, who seems also to like killing and to have problems with schizophrenia (he mentions his doctor prescribing him the anti-psychotic seroquel and talks a lot about 'voices' in his blogs)http://www.myspace.com/thevoicescantgetridofthem

Yeah, I'd guess that it's a grassroots ARG (the camera man needs some video pointers, I'd say Smile ), but the idea that a "random" guy's getting caught up in a mass murder plot, that he "doesn't want to talk about"...

In his blog he says that he's been a user for over a year. I'm not sure how to check if this is true, but:
IF TRUE - Probably not an ARG
IF FALSE - Then he's lying in his blog = creating backstory = ARG written all over it

Keeping an eye on this one, but I can't figure out much at this point. We'll just have to wait, though I'll admit the implications of the violent shaking of a baby doll in the first vid is a bit disturbing.

It's so nice to finaly have a voice!
responce to Mike

All the info on the SA forums is pretty accurate. Mike has been around for a few months but he didn't start posting until the 4th. He started accepting friends on the 5th. The recent blogs are all changed over time depending on his "Mood" so it's hard to keep up with all the info put out. If you just read through the SA forum you'll be up to speed on the latest going ons as well as who I am. If you like what you read than feel free to send Mike, HeyZues or me a message with your thoughts. Although I'm not a part of Mike's world (wink) I still help those who have questions or are completely frustrated.

As always, thanks for the interest and try to keep it clean. Namaste.[/i]

Let me clear up my intentions. First off, Hello to you Goons out there reading this. Yes you, TaffMaster, D14BL0, Bad Graphics Ghost.

I'm getting some negative feedback and it needs some clarification. My name is Chad, if you read my MySpace you'll know that I an indeed a regular person just like you. I stumbled upon this ARG that Mike has written when browsing the forums at Something Awful. D14BL0 diligence in keeping the thread interesting and Bad Graphics Ghost's links really pulled me into the spirit of role playing with this Mike person. I want to thank you both for that and your continuous reliable updates.

The only reason I'm interacting on Mike's MySpace so much is because YOU aren't. If this website has taught me anything it's that the ARG will not work if no one plays along. No feedback = no game. Since I don't have access to the SA forums I've been forced to sit in the sidelines silently during your discussions.

My only way of contacting you was by posting cryptic messages on Mikes main page where I had access to delete them if they might become a bother. By making you discuss who you thought I might be I not only kept you puzzled (Wasn't that fun?) but I could find out who was who without giving myself away (Didn't work out too well though).

I've contacted most of you with updates during the night so that they may be recorded and put up for everyone. I'm sorry for any confusion this might have caused but you never know who's in on it with Mike, or is Mike.

Now that I'm able to talk freely on this account I can get the spotlight off myself and back onto Mike where it belongs. Have any of you had an actual conversation with Mike? Or Heyzeus? Or this new guy, Robert?

Do you think there are hidden clues in the Media that has been presented so far like in other ARGs? Like the Girl picture or the Royal Clown painting? The car in the Walking video looks like a cruiser, but what district?

Who is this other presence and is it an evil from another dimension like it posted? Did possess Heyzues back in '06?

We need answers and I'm working hard on your side to get them. This is going to be a great hunt! Namaste.

Off Topic: I thought I was but I was wrong. Sorry. You can delete them now if you want.

On topic: Has anyone seen Mikes new friend Robert. I think he might be up to something.

Hmmm, just found out about this, and I am intrigued.
Is it wrong that I can only seem to get into ARGs if they have a horror/murder/spooky/ quality about them? Smile

Who would want to get involved with an ARG about the problems of fluffy bunnies. No one I know.

O/T Mike has been getting some new friends to play with him and HeyZeus. What do they have to do with these "Three Witches"?

I hope I can offer both a little encouragement and a suggestion. Firstly, there's a lot to like here: an interesting story, intriguing characters, a nice quick pace, and fascinating clues which shed light on the story without any cliche video-game-style "here comes a puzzle" moments.

Now, a suggestion: perhaps the reason there's relatively little interaction on Mike's MySpace is that Mike tends to post things--blogs, videos, etc--and then quickly delete them without warning or apparent reason. If these surprise deletions are integral to the way the story is supposed to unfold, then so be it, but people aren't likely to spend their time coming up with profound and interesting things to post just to find that the whole thing has vanished into the aether five minutes later.

Just my two cents, and remember, what's there is great.

Thank you for that thoughtful reply

I'm beginning to think this is more of an ARE. We're not really 'sposed to go through all this trouble, but we are anyway. Mike really didn't think this would take off like it did and now he's got a hundred voices all shouting in his ear at once. He hasn't updated at all today and this may be why. Fortunately some other people are stepping to the bat to take over the game from here. I won't say who but it should be obvious if you read Mike's latest deleted blog. I hope this pans out and makes for a fun story when it's all over.

I agree that it has really good potential so far. I'm not a big MySpace fan, though, so I have no intentions of joining up there for anything, but it does seem interesting so far.
It does, however, seem very "Wyoming Incident"-like. Even to the point of possibly being a part of the new game going on at the Happy Cube site or being created by the same SA people. Not that that's a complaint, though, as I thought the Wyoming Incident was actually *very* engaging and well-done, and god knows I miss the creepy WI videos. Smile
I will keep following this one.

There's a new video on Mike's Myspace that seems to show a police car. It's undoubtedly American but it might be helpful if we could nail down the state. The markings are quite distinctive - particularly the darker part curving down into the front wheel arch - but although I've found a couple that are similar, I'm struggling to find anything that matches. Any ideas?
