I know I'm not part of the tCotSA group, but I'm active in Deus City. I live in New Mexico right near Albuquerque, so if there's anything that's needs to be checked out, I'd be willing to go. Zimmerman library is actually really neat. It looks deceivingly small when you walk up because three of its four stories are underground . Actually only one story is underground, I was misinformed. The underground floor is currently inaccessible because there was a fire there last year and repair work is still underway.

Well, I sent this over to Prince

I hope it is not out of my place to inquire about the books Defense Corp. has recently obtained, but I consider myself well-read for a person of 2007, and if I have a weakness it is in old tomes. I have quite a collection of old first editions, and find myself enamored by the smell, touch, and sight of the ancient pages. So I am naturally curious whether there was anything particularly interesting in Defense Corp's recent acquisition.

He'll probably tell me to mind my business and concentrate on my current objectives, but who knows maybe he'll toss me a bone.

Well Prince surprised me and responded

ADPrince says: There were a number of old books which we have decided merit further examination prior to recycling. It seems that they may have a surprising link to an Old-world Cult which has been rumored to resurface as of late. If you come across any references to the "Sodality" and/or "Committee of the Sedulous Amalgamation" let us know immediately. Prince out.

I'm tempted to tell him I dug up some stuff on them to see if he gives me more information, but I'm afraid I'll compromise our position in the shadows. Any advice on this one, I'd like to be able to press him for more information without letting him know who we are, and what we're doing.

Now I want those books -

Those books seem too interesting to be recycled, and I would bet a million creds that they are not going to be made public.
Just for reference, what does Foo know about tSotSA? I think that brakin has heard of it, (although I might be making stuff up)

On a side note, the zimmerman library seems like the place - anyone been there yet?

Morse

GRRRRR! I was typing out a long response and then it went *Blimp* and it was gone. So this is going to be shorter.

Has anyone talked to Ethan? And is this the same folio page we're looking for as what is being hinted at on the DC site??? And is this in anyway IG? I mean could I tell Ethan that I've talked to some of you or even talk the certain specifics? Just curious on everything!
And i promise to be on more often.

I went there yesterday, and I found out that it's huge! Shocked It's Centennial Library that's supposed to look small. I didn't have much time to look for anything, so I just walked around to get a feel for the place.

Got an email from Ethan today that seems to confirm we're on the right path. Some of the stuff we already know, but then it's a response to a letter from two weeks ago.

Quote:
Please forgive the delay in my response to your email. Things have
been a little frightening for me lately, and I took the precaution of
ceasing all electronic communication until I could be sure that I was
safe to do so without exposing sensitive information. We are still not
exactly sure what happened, but I believe that the recent efforts to
gather the folio pages have attracted some very dangerous attention. I
believe that things have calmed down for now, but I was shaken by the
possibility of our enemies having found me. Please be careful with the
information you have; there are a lot of dangerous ears and eyes out
there.

As for the pages we are seeking. News of a Florida page is actually
news to me, but that isn't really too unusual. I know for a fact that
the Committee has been working on one located somewhere in the
Southwest United States, so maybe there are two "in play" at this
moment. Hope that helps.

I hope to regain my footing and rejoin you all in our mission very
shortly. Thanks for your patience.

Sounds like the Zimmerman library needs a good check.

I don't think so. I'm not sure what's going on at the moment. Are we in fact supposed to physically go to the suspected location?

In the Brother Theo blog he indicates that the name we got from the hidden morse code was a person we was going to contact. I think that person was in Florida. But if Theo is checking him out or we are supposed to I haven't a clue.

That's a different folio.

I confirmed this with Adam and Chris--and there is one folio piece somewhere in the Southwest that tCotSA is looking for, and another one in Florida--Adam is going to get back to us about what he found out about Nero Chavingy (I would assume via blog) so we can proceed, while the other appears to be a dead drop...somewhere.

If it is in the library, the question is where--that library is really really big.

I was doing some searching and thought that maybe the voice said 'Bandelier and Hyde'? Bandelier National Monument and Hyde Memorial State Park in New Mexico are located relatively close to Sante Fe. I don't know, it's probably a stretch.

Within roughly 60 miles of those two monuments is the campus of the University of New Mexico, Alburquerque. The school was founded in 1892 which was an election year. One of the buildings on the campus is the Zimmerman Library. The library was completed in 1938 which was also an election year. It has 4 floors/stories. There are airports in both cities.

Maybe there is a 12 volume set of books on one of the floors, in the NW corner, and we are to look in volume 4 for a folio page?

I posted this earlier in the thread. Figure out which corner in to the NW and check that corner on each of the 4 floors.

Also, the Clinton hint might refer to whatever cataloguing system they use there--and the book is hidden in the section with that number--it's doubtful if they use the Dewey system, but there are some other filing systems where the numbers might match up.

I haven't been following along in awhile (just too much going on) but I will be in New Mexico this weekend. If you need me to check something out, email me at crloveSPLAThotmail.com and I'll do my best.

Can you get into Zimmerman Library? Campuses might be a little more secure right now due to the Virginia Tech tragedy.

The University of New Mexico has an online service called "Ask a Librarian." I just sent them an email:

Quote:
Hi,

My name is Pam Moore. I live in St. Louis, Missouri. I have a really stange question for you. I know, you're a librarian, there are no strange questions! I used to be an AV librarian myself at Harris-Stowe State University and Lindenwood University. In fact, I am working in a data archiving center now which is essentially the same thing. Anyway, please bear with me through this explanation.

I am involved in an Alternate Reality Game called Deus City. In this game, participants are given tasks to complete in real life in order to advance the story, solve puzzles, locate clues, etc. Information is located here: http://forums.unfiction.com/ and specifically in this thread: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=316934#316934

One of the tasks we have been given is to locate pages of a folio purported to be prophecies of Nostradamus. The individuals running the game have hidden several loose pages around the country that we are to find. One of them is believed to be hidden in Zimmerman Library.

These are the clues we received:
A SAID " THE HOLDER WAS BORN IN THE YEAR THAT CLINTON LOST THE ELECTION."
A SAID "THE VOLUME MATCHES THE STORIES"
A PROMISED TO LEAVE THE PAGES WITH HER FRIEND ZIMMERMAN
A SAID "IN THE CORNER WHERE N MEETS W YOU WILL FIND THE DOZEN BOOKS"

Some of us have interpreted this to mean that we are looking for a 12 volume set of books which are situated in the NorthWest corner of one of the floors. We think a folio page might be slipped into volume 4 of that set.

Our question is, would one of our players be allowed in the library to look for that page if they are not a student? If not, is there any way someone from the library itself might be willing to take a little time to look into this possibility?

I have included my email and cell phone number. Please contact me if you can help us out here. There are a number of players eagerly awaiting your answer.

Thank you for your time,
Pam Moore

They probably won't be able to answer until Monday so cross your fingers.
