No More Leitmarks

Man, that's frustrating... I have a whole stack of cards left to solve. Maybe if they receive enough e-mails, they'll re-think their decision?

No fairs, they should have given notice and I would have solved any cards I haven't yet solved entered for more leitmarks.

I was going to enter a bunch of S1 cards this week. Would've been nice to get some advance notice about this, 'cause I would have done it sooner.

I didn't get serious until January, but I was hoping that I could at least get to the S1 Orange leitmark.

On a related note, has anybody received any word on when the S1 cards won't be accepted on the site?

I pretty much share the opinion of people on both boards - people were generally aware that they would not continue sending out leitmarks forever, but most people would have been content with a month's warning or something. Whilst it's basically impossible to keep everyone happy all the time, MC do appear to have chosen about the worst possible way of dealing with the issue. Commiserations to everyone who hoped there'd be more time to solve and get the leitmarks.

Well, I guess that answers the question I just emailed them about earlier this week. Crying or Very sad

Hopefully they'll reconsider when they see the problems it has caused.

Just read the update. Seems confusing and contradictory. If I'm reading it correctly, it sounds like they still will award Leitmarks for Season 1, but they won't be automatic--you have to write to them and ask to be sent one. Is that how it's reading to everyone else?

That's right, and they won't update the final leaderboard for Season 1 with leitmark data. So you can have 'em.

I thought this thread might be due an update:

I recently received my Blue Leitmark from MC, so I can confirm that they are still sending them out if you ask. However, they are not sending them en masse in jiffy bags as before. Instead they are sending them in hand-written envelopes. The card from Sente is still included.

There has been a discussion on the official PXC forum about this, because the envelopes MC are using are not up to the tender mercies of the Post Office machinery (literally), and some Leitmarks have been ripped out.
A suggested (and, I believe, tested) solution is to send a stamped addressed jiffy bag to MC.
