A whole ARG Netcast devoted totally to MeiGeist. Hazel is totally awesome.

Way to go Thunderwolf and Thank you Netcast Team for allowing this. It was much more interesting than having a PM chat. It felt more personal somehow. And much more understandable than a PM chat would have been.

I can't thank Hazel enough for everything she's done. Helped me more than anyone could know

Also The netcast was fun. First step on the way to fortune and Glory Smile

Absolutely superb netcast, gotta love those pesky blackholes. Smile

Well done Hazel et all and thanks for letting us see how the game played out from your perspective.

I've always imagined it as a study of asylum patients on "day release" trying to complete a treasure hunt, so thanks for setting me straight Smile

Superb netcast! I'm especially pleased that I got a mention, even if Hazel did snort when my name was mentioned Wink

I'm also relieved that I wasn't wrong with my willful dismissal of certain spec here and there - as Pat of Pat and Dave fame once put it... "Either the two things are linked together in some way... or someone in administration has cocked it up."

I'm also very pleased that there is likely to be a new ARG from Licorice Films at some point in the future. I think it would be especially cool if this was the start of a whole series of games, all built around the Timehole team as a central point.

I think it would be awesome for players to be called in by Pat and Dave to help solve the latest mystery/conspiracy that they've uncovered - sort of like the lone gunmen calling in Mulder and Scully... or Scooby Doo and the gang requesting more pesky kids to stop the bad guy getting away with it...

The characters are really too strong and well realised (not to mention acted) to abandon. It would feel like an injustice. I'm really not bothered about wether or not we get a direct sequel - I think there's only so much you can do with each storyline, so I'm happy with putting Eva and Kenkon to bed - but Timehole? They were always on the outside until the very end - and felt very much like a player-owned group rather than anything connected with the story. I think it would be the perfect continuation to have the Timehole team introduce us to the next adventure.

What do you guys think? We should petition hazel to prevent her killing off Pat and Dave, and demand they be included in all future endevours Wink

Definitely, I think we should petition that they get their own TV show "The TimeHole Conspiracies." We shouldn't deny the world of their comic genius.

I'd watch it.

Subjects from the asylum

No, Nitefoll, I think you were right the first time. Clearly, some of us (meaning ME) were let out of the asylum to play a treasure hunt game after having watched Buckaroo Bonzai one too many times. Screwy I do have to say that I love that movie.

But, it's a learning experience right? Right?

EDIT: And I should echo everyone else--Bravi, Hazel et al! I really wasn't trying to nitpick on Erwin, and I promise to remove my teeth from his anatomy (hopefully without gaining a hairball from my experience).

Just so you know, I have no complaints about the work of you and the rest of the team--it was beautifully, beautifully done, even more so considering how few people you had at your disposal. Much good rest to you--I can't wait to see what you come up with once your batteries are recharged.

*Rereads the credits*

Wait, wait, wait! Besides the actors/actresses, there were really only two people running this game? Wow. Shocked

I just listened to the podcast, and it was awesome. It's clear that Hazel is a very funny individual (I had fun listening to her Smile), and that where much of the game's humor stems from. Also, I'm really impressed with her skills as a writer; to be able to personify a character that we had also seen portrayed in video and to have me believing that it was the same person is a tribute to both the skills of the actors/actresses and of Hazel, the writer.

All in all, it was a great way to conclude Meigeist--certainly better than just a PM chat. Thanks a bunch to everyone at the Netcast who made it possible, and especially to Hazel for agreeing to talk on the show! Smile

Finally... I look forward to all future projects from Licorice Film, be they ARGs or feature films or other forms of storytelling.

And of course, thank you for the kind things you said about me, Hazel; it really made my day. Embarassed

Agreed! Fantastic netcast. One final thing, in case the PMs read this--on the Netcast, occasionally Hazel mentioned the constructive criticism, and it sounded a bit like she thought that we were dissatisfied overall.

I think I can speak for most if not all of us when I say that our constructive criticism was definitely meant just that way--as constructive. Mine, anyway, was meant as a way to say "This was a GREAT game, and here are some things that I think would make the sequel (please please please please) even better!"

My feedback on the feedback form was all positive, because overall this was a fantastic game. It didn't occur to me until later that maybe I should post anything else.

It is definitely even more impressive when you realise that only two people did the whole thing!

So thanks again to everyone on both sides of the curtain for making my last few months so fantastic.

And, Thunderwolf, can I have your autograph?

Agreed. My only real dissatisfaction with the game was that it ended; and that had to happen eventually. It was just so good that we were left wanting more--which is exactly what every game should strive to do. Smile

Also, I think I forgot to congratulate ThunderWolf in my last post. Sorry. Congratulations! Smile

Drat! I just thought of another question!!! (How far in advance were the videos shot? Eva's blog vids, the captive vids, etc.) Oh well!

I just listened to it last night - really great! It's a nice touch how they mention us by name and don't just ask the questions anonomously.
