Hi Spaceangel (love the name!)
Yeah we did, it's latin for sunset although I did uncover the same death metal band in my travels. Dr. Hendler does make rather a large point of drawing our attention to that name though. It's one of the latin words included in the glossary he links to from his 'educational' site too.
He does have rather a fondness for latin though, Orbitas in particular being an word used anagrammatically by Hendler, Murdoch and DJ.

Still thinking that Orbitas could be an organisation of some sort and running with wild and unfounded idea I tried every possible variation of Orbitas as a web address but couldn't find any site of interest.
Time will tell I guess.

Love the blog Schrijvertje, lots of caveats and arcane stuff in there. If anything is to pique their interest then a site that mirrors his philosophical ideology is sure to do it. Clever stuff.

*waves*

Hello all, I've been lurking through these forums for awhile now, but this is my first time jumping in and getting involved with an ARG.

I decided to search "Occasus - meaning" in google, and this came up:
"JSTOR: The Astrology of P. Nigidius Figulus (Lucan I, 649-65)"

I just thought it was interesting since astrology seems to be a theme in all of this. I have access to JSTOR, so if anyone thinks it's worth checking out I would be more than happy to Smile

Cheers!

Greetings dOllface! Please do investigate further. I have done a fair bit of reading about that term but didn't turn up anything particularly thematic, would be interesting to see if its use in that article throws any light on Hendler's ideology.
New post guys in the blindspot journal, something brewing methinks and it aint just hendler's coffee (which he he notes was rather good coffee...anyone remember Twin Peaks?)
Edit: Something spooky happening at Lachlan's myspace. Just tried to access it via my bookmarks and was redirected to a blank page with the word Orbitas in the browser tab. Can't get it to do it again, anyone else experiencing this?

I can't reproduce this... Did you catch the URL you were redirected to? Random redirection doesn't make sense, as there's no way you can run server-side scripts on a myspace account, and i don't see any javascript that would do something like what you're talking about.

Nah I didn't, well couldn't to be honest...happened only momentarily before redirecting back to Lachlan's myspace. Internet Explorer had a few odd moments, more than firefox which I normally use, reported the page as unavailable a few times. I think a redirection is being planned or set up at the moment and I may have caught it in action.
I suppose it's possible I caught something I typed into my browser tab during my 'investigations' though I don't think I did, not technically minded enough though to know whether it's possible or not. Will follow your lead on that one.

On a MySpace page? I'm not sure that's possible, is it? Question Not seeing anything strange when I pull up the page.

On the other hand, Twin Peaks is my favorite show of all time. Cool

Twink Peaks was a work of art. Never bettered. I'm gonna make us some cherry pie Mokey!
I'm guessing I did something extraneous then but I can tell you I thought Pandora's Box was finally opening.
Shame really.
Edit: Actually Mokey you are right, just done some digging around in a tech forum and found the following
Quote:
This is kind of late, but just a little FYI. There is no way to redirect from your myspace. I have tried everything. All meta tags are blocked, so if you enter <meta> it will change it into "...". Javascript is banned, so you cant use that. PHP or any other server scripting languages are not installed for users. I even tried to use Flash, but to embed the flash page that will redirect you need the <object> tag, it is also blocked. So its pretty stupid, but what can you do.

I am humbled and rumbled and other things that rhyme with it I guess.

New post in Hendler's blog. So sure we are on the cusp of something.

Okay well I feel a little lame being like the tenth person to step forward and admit to watching from the shadows for a while but oh well... I'm sure there are more!

I'm super-new to ARGing but like this thread a lot and want to get in before it blows up!... Shocked

Fizz—any more contact from DJ?

Greetings Phantom, please get involved, if nothing else it may well relieve my headache. Nah! Nothing from DJ, Hendler or Murdoch. To be honest DJ is the most open of all so I'm hoping something happens soon, Lachlan's reply to my overblown message was four words long, Hendler is communicating only through his blog and even then it's the bare bones of a message and to be honest DJ isn't saying a lot.
. I think we're all trying to get them to open up at the moment but it's proving difficult.

cellphones

My cellphone not working, got me thinking about the cellphine statement awhile ago on nonmoreparents.com

Why is it the only one scribbled out? is that of some importance?

I decided to check into this so i playedn with the pic in photoshop

http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x59/yougetmehigh1/whatiftherewerenomorecellphones.jpg

It appears to say "what if the were no more cellphone"

cellphone not cellphone(s)

if you look closely at "were" you can make out "were" but it takes some imagination to do so.
Anyone else see this or am i just losing my mind?

Not sure if this helps anything but its worth a shot.

Maybe I should actually get an account so I can edit entries, but if you google "Hope only child", there's a book (link) about children who have grown up in the one-child policy situation in China. Descriptions mention parent/child relationships, and the one-child policy has been notorious for increasing gender-based infanticide in China. No idea if the corrolation is meaningful, though.

Nice work capgun! That would explain "You're a gem, H."

Now. What do we do with it. I've googled the usual stuff, like "hope hendler" and haven't come up with much. Confused

EDIT: Good call on the infantcide thing in china. I'll follow that for a bit and see where I get...

It isn't a stegged image but is beautiful all the same methinks. How did you do the multicoloured effect, looks stunning.
Thing bout 'Hope', you are a genius! Staring me in the face but didn't see it. Wonder if that's why the blog is called Blindspot. Everything has stared us in the face we've just been slow on the uptake.
