Agreed Schrijvertje, there are loads of risks involved. My initial concept was to create an alternate persona, new email, new blog - the works. That way if the scenario did go wrong it wouldn't endanger the raport we have established with them. Part of me wonders if that is what we are 'supposed' to do - Hope makes so many references to not telling her father where the blog is, where she is, where the videos are: it's almost like we're being goaded to do exactly that.
That said it does need some further consideration and I agree wholeheartedly that it should be consigned to the pending tray.

It's a shame that the gap may be unintentional, would be nice to find a new clue hidden somewhere. NG 321 is actually a UK postcode - not that that has any relevance. I guess we all keep looking, there has to be something, somewhere.

Hi Shellshock612, good to have you back.
Everything's much the same as you left it, unanswered emails, unanswered blog messages, Hopes blog leads nowhere, her videos do even less. Woe, Woe, Woe, Oh for something major.

Hendler replied to some comments on this blog. Nothing major.

I sent an e-mail to Francheska of that store, "The Pink Hour", asking if they had anyone working there named Hope.

Her reply:

The Pink Hour has no employees at this time.

Isn't this a rather strange way to formulate the answer, or am I being too paranoid. Wouldn't it have been more normal to reply in a fashion like: "No, there's no-one named Hope here, now get lost you perverted SOB!"

The reply to me sounds like neither a confirmation nor a denial. No employees at this time. That could mean they never had a girl named Hope working there, but it could also mean Hope did work there but she has left, which does tie in with her YouTube vids of being on a trip.

It does seem a little abrupt Schrijvertje. Even if you are barking up the wrong tree you might expect a response that is a little more polite. Watch Hope's blog, if that 'company' is part of the game then she is sure to respond to the fact that someone is making enquiries about her whereabouts.
I'm still wondering if we are supposed to instigate the next phase of this adventure by doing what we are being told 'not' to repeatedly. Lachlan never really became a significant player, DJ has now ceased any involvement and Hendler seemed only instrumental in leading us to Hope's blog.
I shall bide my time, 'patience is a virtue' as my old Mother says. Laughing

I've done some digging around and Francheska's myspace is http://www.myspace.com/itspurepink. Aside from numerous uploaded images of roses there is very little on there, she refers to herself as Rose in the profile but also uses the nickname BunnyGirl in various postings. I have located her Yahoo Profile and she is a member of a few Yahoo Groups devoted to pink things and roses - everything seems to be pretty much in order to be honest.

But it does! Hope wrote me back! Cool I sent her two MySpace messages that read:

Quote:
Hi! Smile Are you by any chance Dr. J. Hendler's daughter? The Dr. J. Hendler who studies solar flares?

Don't worry -- I won't tell him about your MySpace. Nothing more of a buzz-kill than MySpace-stalking parents, right? Wink

Anyway, just wanted to say hi! Smile

-- Mokey

And then I added right away,

Quote:
lol I also meant to ask you about your dog when I wrote (duh, totally forgot to mention that) -- what kind do you have? My friend just bought a Maltipoo. Cutest thing in the whole, wide world, but he's so tiny!!! I like dogs that can knock me over when they hug me. Smile So I'm doing a bit of research before I go out and rescue one.

Here's her response! Very Happy

Hi Mokey!

She's a rescue. I think if you have the chance to save someone you have to do it! As for breed we think she's a lab / shepherd mix. So she'll definitely be able to knock me over one day... Smile

As for my dad—no idea how you know that, but yes, that's him. That's who I'm stuck with. Razz

Thanks for reaching out. You better not tell him tho!

Go Mokey, Go Mokey, Go Mokey!
You done good! Finally a connection to Hope Hendler.
By the way my dreams have too been answered. Lachlan Murdoch has contacted me and guess what, it isn't Lachlan Murdoch. To be honest we always new it wasn't but I'm suprised that we are now dealing with someone who admits to pretending to be Lachlan Murdoch. Confused? Moi?
Note the signature 'M'. Not come across an M's so far so I'm not gonna let this drop. Will push and push and push....

Body: I don't mean to be rude but I hope you don't think I'm really Lachlan Murdoch. I mean, I guess he may have an authentic page on here but I doubt his father has 14 seperate profiles.

I guess everyone hides behind something.

As for hendler—I'd rather not get into that. Not here.

Also had a message from Hope but nothing to the extent that Mokey received buy check out Youtube she has uploaded a new video which she aludes to having a 'red filter' - I think there may a clue withing the description. Goes to ponder

Done some headacheing thinking 'bout this. But first..
Yeah yougetmehigh that was the profile I found, she has a few others and pinkesque stuff but she is certainly not in-game. As you are graphics student have you taken a look at Hope's latest Youtube, she admits it's filtered and whatever format it was recorded there's a fair few macroblocks but nothing registering when I've run the frames through image modification - thought it might contain something hidden???

First headache: My 'Lachlan' message kinda kills all we've established with regards to Lachlan's political and personal links to theme. It isn't him afterall but 'M' and lordy knows who that is. I have tried to deepen that conversation a little but erase every Lachlan link and caveat we've found so far.

Headache Part Deux - Mokey: Don't you find her response a little odd? She has keyworded her Youtube video trapped, is lying to her father as to her whereabouts, has bemoaned and remains fearfull of the very prospect of her father finding her yet when you contact her and mention him she is nothing short of polite in response. One would expect a girl hiding from a demon of a father to rabidly panic when an unknown person contacts her and talks of him.

DJ no longer replies to me though no link was ever established as to his role in the scheme of things, I theorised he may be Hopes partner but need to test that theory and for that I need a response.

Any response to the blog Schrijvertje? I really thought that might prompt something.
Ow! Headache, The PM of this one is weaving something more complex and brilliant than a Morgan and Wong penned episode of X-Files.

Birds, Motels, Trapped, Paranoia - thinking Hitchockian influences Confused

Yes -- I'm totally weirded out by her latest video, especially because it's tagged "trapped." Unfortunately, I'm not an image puzzler, so I can't sort out whether something's hidden there. It does kind of confuse me that the screen goes black about a second and a half before the sound stops. Or is that just my computer? Again, I'm not a video person.

Her description of the video is a bit strange -- she refers to "the motel" and "the tape" as if whoever's watching should already know about these things. Tried to find a clue there... not sure yet what's going on with that... Confused

*Adding question: Once again pointing out how NOT a video person I am, Embarassed I've noticed that when you finish watching a video on YouTube, you are given options of other (related?) videos to watch. One that comes up for me every time is called "Father's Day Video From 'Evolution of Dad.'" Is there a reason for this? I don't see anything in her tags that suggest a Dad theme, so I don't know why this would show up. Anyway, I'm probably just exposing how little I know about YouTube. Laughing Maybe someone can pull me aside and enlighten me.

Hi Mokey:
Evolution of Dad is:
Quote:
The Evolution of Dad is a documentary-in-progress about what it means to be a nurturing, involved, contemporary American father. The film will explore how fatherhood has evolved over time, what its impact has been on family and society; and lastly, how fatherhood will likely continue to evolve. The overall intention is to create a film that is inspiring, thought-provoking and profound.

And mark my British words if this is some lame promo for a student vid project I will gun them all down - sorta.

I've checked the vid frame by fame and nothing is hidden in it as far as I can see, the macroblocks are a natural residue of the encoding process which is why it appears pixelated but you seem to have the closest link with Hope and hopefully she will expand on things with you. She does indicate that the 'red' video of the birds was filmed, 'found' on the video tape, without her knowledge - have no idea what this means.

We've had so many little updates today and to be honest I'm stumped, it's like every theory so far expunged has collapsed and we can't find a rationale, even the characters are not who they seem to be.

My theory: drop her right in it. Contact Hendler and dangle the carrot, issue and few demands and move it forward. I'm sure it's what we're being asked to do in a reverse psychology sorta way.
