Hey guys- I just got a chance to look at this stuff today. I left a link up for the good doctor that I think is pretty cool.

Soooo... I was thinking- that video that he posted that he says will blow our minds. Do you think the date and time in the video are relevant? He seems to have put a lot of emphasis on the post. Yes? No? Somethings telling me maybe not because the source is from a government website and it's the first file in the solar directory. (link: http://lasco-www.nrl.navy.mil/solcd/).

But in the off chance the dates are important, the line with the date and time starts at

C2 2000/01/12 21:23

and ends at

C2 2000/01/15 23:31

with photographs every 15-30 minutes or so in between. It's probably nothing...

Hi Mcgritts and all nomoreparenters,
I wouldn't worry too much about getting them 'heated' this is, after all, a game and everyone of us is 'playing' it according to our instincts, rationale and logic. I'm sure and certain that the PM's expect the unexpected and understand that we will manipulate, inviegle and obfuscate if that is our will. Some players are more naturalistic others are more character driven and others are slippery: it takes a combination of all these traits to achieve our ends, I believe. Post whatever you wish my friend I'm sure that's the whole point of the task.

For what it's worth I got a post from Hope, I had wrestled with the rationale behind securing a reply and was intrigued by Mokey's use of the phrase TINAG (this is not a game.) It made sense to me that those of us who had secured replies did so when at our most human and real, the long sermonius attempts I had made with countless blatant triggers and traps fell by the wayside whilst simple human communication managed to get a reply. So I tried it, and it worked. It might be helpfull for future reference that we try to be a little more 'us' as it seems to strike a chord with the PM's. I am gratefull that she replied all the same Very Happy

I'm not on an adventure any way. It's more of a... a cleansing. What did you feel like when you graduated high school? I'm like... it's like... my whole world's been shattered because everything for SO LONG has been so normal, right? You get up, go to school, etc, and stuff doesn't really change? And suddenly I'm out of school and supposed to GO to school again in a few months but I dunno what I want to do, or be or whatever. Suddenly people I thought I knew really really well and trusted a lot just... disappear? Move on? And my dad - you know parents - he's a tough father and demands a lot. I feel like life's got to be about more than work and money and "success". My definition of success is being happy. I guess I'm looking for that. I'm not really finding it as I drive around California.

My gut instinct is that there is NO real traumatic element to their relationship, whilst it's known that she doesn't want to be found she doesn't exactly speak of him in terms of dread or fear nor does he speak of her in an authoritarian, aggressive manner. I am thinking now that they simply represent a normal, functional family dynamic and until proven otherwise I shall assume this is the case. She clearly speaks of people 'disappearing' which is amazingly tantalizing but she doesn't indicate that she feels her father is the cause. We may believe otherwise!

Whoever is behind this is doing some remarkable stuff cos I read Hope's words and it was fine, fine literature. Believable, appropriate and natural.
I salute you Very Happy

Sorry to post again but I didn't see marnut's post when I posted mine.
I've been thinking about the challenge marnut and was flung back to the days of the nomoreparents.com website. The twelve animated gifs were posted in a directory known as flares. We linked this site to Hendler via the anagramatic use of the word ORBITAS on the site and on his homepage. He states in his blog that he has shown us his 'flares' now we should show him ours.
I'm silently wondering if he means creating 'flares' like he did with the original site. This is just wondering aloud of course.
Who knows, I'm quite happy with my submission and Mokey's is stunning but I did wonder if there may be a hidden element to this?????

With a friend right now and can't do much, but I got a message from Hope! Here it is (hehe, I got hugs and kisses!):

Quote:
Sorry to take so long to reply! I've been online every other day. You should try posting videos. Look at mine - it's not like I'm a genius with the camera.

Jez, look at what a red filter does! No one can tell what they are. I think I'll have to post a video reply or maybe when I get home I'll take anothe video and let everyone try and figure out what they are. We have a lot. My dad says they're noisey and annoying but I think they're really cool. I like having little creatures around the house. Creatures to take care of.

That's awesome your dog is a rescue. I've always believed in that kind of thing -- there are WAY too many homeless pets out there to buy from a store instead. Sad In fact, there's a sweet little kitty outside my door right now. We're trying to find her a home. Keep your fingers crossed that my friend can take her in! Smile

I saw you have a YouTube account. Super cool! I'm useless with making videos, but I love to watch them. You have birds, too? How cool! What kind are they? How long have you had them?

Of course I won't mention anything to your dad. I don't know him personally, anyway. Just heard of him and his studies from some of my geeky, environmentalist friends. I don't know much about Dr. Hendler, but I was under the impression that my buddies sort of disagreed with his politics. *shrugs* No idea!

In any case, your Space is safe with me! Smile I'm glad we met!

I guess Hope has been busy sending out replies. I got three!

First one is a reply to me sending her that Indian story about the Sun and her daughter.

Quote:
One of my best friends works at Mnt. Wilson in Los Angeles, so I totally get the science vibe. Well, I don't get it, like, am into it. But I understand the bug. My dad has the bug, too.

You're a writer? Did you write that Indian Story?

Hi Hope,

Saw you near the Haramokngna American Indian Cultural Center in your last video, then at the Mount Wilson Observatory with the solar tower, and I had to think of this old Cherokee Indian legend "Sun and her Daughter".

(EDIT: I posted the story in its entirety here.)

Liked your choice of music, by the way. Diana Ross is a classic, and the Dixie Chicks seem to be growing on me.

Have a nice day!
Johnny

Second one is short.

Pretty much!

Hi Hope,

In your last message you said my blog reminded you of your dad's, but now it looks like you went to the Mount Wilson Observatory, where they are doing solar research. Doesn't that remind you even more of your dad?

Well, perhaps you just know a scientist who isn't dead set on making everyone see things his way.

J.

Third one is a reply to my comment on her MySpace blog.

Quote:
Hi Johnny! It feels like I'm being stalked. Ugh! I've been through some weird stuff recently so I think I'm a bit sensitive!

Then I also got an e-mail back from Francheska of "The Pink Hour". Guess it's dead end.

Quote:
Hi Johnny The Pink Hour was at first a club of people who love the color pink. The club itself is fine I just found something that went off much better although I still own the name and what not. An all pink store is always a great idea. I always hear that but do not have the resources just yet to make that a reality:)... Hope never worked for me at anytime. No one did. Where did you get this email address?

So it's a period of three days, two hours and eight minutes. 03:02:08 in counter format. Or a total of 4448 minutes.

I don't think it means anything though. I mean, how long would he have had to look for a video which fitted whatever part the numbers would play? Except if it's manufactured, but these are professional websites, no way is that a possibility.

It's like when we generate the best replies when we act natural. I don't think we are supposed to dig this deep.

Hi guys Laughing
Received a message from DJ today. I had been wondering if he was simply a device for pointing us in the right direction when we couldn't find Hendler's blog and this email at least seems to confirm that he isn't going to supply us with any information. It is the second such reply I have had from him so I think I might give the poor chap a break. Still determined to uncover some more about the mysterious 'M' but am planning to do so in a less blatant way.

Hi Mcgritts Laughing
I'm really in agreement with Schrijvertje on this one. For Hendler to have timed the videos in order to provide us with a clue he would have had to have authored them or at the very least searched through possibly hundreds to find one that matched exactly the number clue he wished to provide.
It's not to say I'm right but I have he strongest suspicion that this may prove to be a red herring.
Hey guys, Hendler has seen our entries. Oh the anticipation.

I think he's going for the bait.

I used the image Lachlan posted on his MySpace blog. Now Hendler wants to know where I found it.

Should I tell him the truth?

Gosh yes Schrijvertje,
Finally a conversation rather than a series of comments. Here's your chance to enter into some dialogue with the good doc and maybe further our understanding of the mysterious Lachlan 'M' Murdoch. I'm so excited for you!
Good luck Very Happy

Hehe... will he now find Hope on YouTube? Hrm...

And, Fizz, I think DJ may have a role to play later. He's clearly connected to Hope, so I'll bet he pops up again in a little while.
