I've been out of the ARG game for a while, but this looks awfully promising...

(hoping the Boston listing is meant for me...) has anyone claimed that package yet?

Yeah, the Boston listing was for an in-game player. Be glad it wasn't for you - there were live crickets inside.

Were there actually crickets in the letter? I thought that he just had a cricket infestation in the paint bucket where he normally trashes his junk mail/sensitive mail? Maybe I read that wrong...

I got the same impression, that it was a coincidence, at least apparently.

I was taking a shower last night, and guess what decided to show up?

A black cricket! Shocked

Great. Have a press conference in Ireland for 5 days and when I come back...crickets happen!

Why do I miss out on all the good parts? Last I checked in we were trying to make sense of how a bunch of vigilante hackers could be linked to the Old Ones. Insects were clearly the missing link

I get it!
All the biological entities are "creepy creatures".
Including some of the "computer consultants".

I don't suppose we'd actually have any site registrants in Finland huh?
The pic on this site (The Nameless City - one of Lovecraft's) reminds me of the watercolor. There's also some houses in the background of bseeingu.com (in the midst of the bushes) that are similar IIRC.

Anyway, there isn't anything on the site, and I know I'm grasping at straws, the image just looked familiar somehow. Maybe it's a famous piece or something.

/don't mind me

Just FYI, The Nameless City is also the title of a HP Lovecraft story, info here.

The Nameless City is where Abdul Alhazred wrote the Necronomicon.

[META] so if this ARG is a promo for this movie, why is the website for this movie such a hacked-up mess? They'd know we'd find that website. Unless the nasty website is supposed to throw us off the trail...

Maybe this is the actual movie site (not that it necessarily has anything to do with the game)...kind of a cute auto-reply when you sign up.

Greetings

You have taken the unwise step of signing up for the Cthulhu movie mailing list. No! We will not send you unwanted or unwarranted emails or give your name to anybody else, friend or foe, but now the ancient ones are aware of your browsing habits. Dark things await.

Of course, you can unsubscribe at any time, but until you fully understand the old religions, that might not be the wisest of ideas.

And thank you

And just an FYI - it looks as though Lemonquest is doing a Cthulhu mobile game.
