For Ursulla, St. B tunnel pages, topics

StB[1]: Wishes (making them, desires, Places Names)

StB2: Results of Wishes (especialy those gone wrong)

StB3: Faeries (seeing then, calling them, making a place for them)

StB4: Alchemy and the tools of the trade in casting spells (Say, doesn't the Aquarium have a "Wishing Powder" Page?)

StB5: Religions vs. Magic, Religions use of Magic, Magic as Religion

So why is this here? Ursulla had a point, namely, "how do these different topics relate to each other?"

The different paths at GW may also hold more clues based on theme...
We have seen the Quantum Physics explanation from several directions, Creative & Artisitc Thought, touched on the edges of Religious Dogma and Mysticism, and Philosphy.

Throw in the esoteric initiations of Mythosphere (which has been quiet since it mentioned we need to find the WAND) and what have we got?

Throw some speculation out GB Exclamation Laughing

My personal speculation is that Greywethers is trying to show us the science, religion, mystesism, alchemy, magic, are all basically different aspects of the same thing, a way to understand the nature of our exisitence. That there are multiple universes, that do not necessarily run parallel to each other, that sometimes they intersect and at the point (or area) of overlap, natural rules get broken in both realities. Perhaps it is also trying to show us that using science, religion, mystesism, alchemy, magic, whatever you want to call it, also provides a way to - if not undo the damage, at least to minimize the impact and separate the two worlds.
I know it may not look like that to you or others, but that is the way my mind works, pulling together different bits of infomation to make a leap of faith, not using standard methodology to get there, but there it is.
Razz Wink

If you, or anyone else has ideas or opinions on where you think this might be leading us, I would appreciate hearing them Exclamation Very Happy

Spec - Mythology as History

This is the topic that Dale took with Professor Whiting.
To believe in mythology as history, one probably has to believe in magic, alchemy, faeries, and what ever other topics that will show up in StB pages (there are how many windows????)

Just thinking out loud late at night.

Alchemy, after one gets past that bit about turning lead into gold, is the seed that Chemistry grew out of.

Natural Philosophy is the basis of may different branches of science.

If you take a good look at the history of science, in the early days if you studied one science you were studying all of them. as the knowledge base expanded we had both too much information for a single staok of science, but not enought to unify all the branches back into the main trunk.

That is beginning to change with progress in Quantum physics, and Biology/Chemistry. Now in order to understand the higher consepts of Biology, how hormones work, how animal toxins work, how genes are expressed, you have to understand how Catalysts work, the physics behind the speed of reactions, the chemical processes that go on inside and outside cellular walls, the physics behind how proteins fold into uniques shapes, calculus to determine the correct doseage of medication for a patient. There is so much information out there, one will never be able to learn everything, but gone are the days when one could focus on a single areas to tackle, now one needs to be able to understand concepts from these other branches in order to make sense out of the current one of interest.
