I was just trying to point out that there are various places where French is a main language, so people didn't automatically fix on the idea that Paradox is in France. I'm still not really explaining this right, am I?

Me too ^^ I'm from New Orleans, LA, USA. We're not France, were not officially French speaking, but we have a whole bunch of French speakers....oh my! He's here! O.O

Wink but yeah. In modern times with so many nationalities moving to other countries all the time, it just means he has some sort of French in his history. Either that! Or there's no French at all and it's supposed to be some sort of clue.

And wouldn't he probably be somewhere in the UK anyway? He snatched the boy from there. He used their terminology in his puzzle. And if he really has any inclination of returning the boy, he would probably be close enough to do so.

just so people aren't confused by what i was trying to say, my first comment about French was not to suggest where Paradox is, but to suggest something about Paradox himself. In knowing more about Paradox, taking clues about him, we might better be able to converse with him.

Oooo, badness. Now we need to hear what Mr. Fairborn has to say for himself.

Quote:
Degravedi (4:21:56 PM): Parlez-vous francais, Monsieur Paradoxe?
trinity7night (4:22:30 PM): Parley is some kind of herb, isn't it?
Degravedi (4:22:51 PM): No, that would parsley. So apparently the answer is "no".
Degravedi (4:23:12 PM): I was asking if you spoke French. They also use Tique Toque.
trinity7night (4:23:29 PM): To save wasting your little tiny worried heads..Tique Toque is just my way of Tick Tock, and I am not french.
Degravedi (4:23:53 PM): Ah, well that solves one mystery at least.
Degravedi (4:24:14 PM): Mr Fairborn isn't cooperating. He won't tell us what happened 16 years ago.
Degravedi (4:24:25 PM): Will you?
trinity7night (4:24:30 PM): Surprising.
trinity7night (4:24:58 PM): I shall..eventually.
trinity7night (4:25:11 PM): But if it helps, Mr. Fairborn's son is 18 years.
Degravedi (4:25:32 PM): Ah, you seem to be everywhere.
Degravedi (4:26:18 PM):
What are we to do now?
trinity7night (4:26:30 PM): Wait..
trinity7night (4:26:51 PM): I'm sure Mr. Fairborn will be recieving something very..very soon
trinity7night (4:27:00 PM): It might be good. It might be bad.
trinity7night (4:27:04 PM): It might be the head of his son.
trinity7night (4:27:06 PM): It might be his foot.

Degravedi (4:27:18 PM):
Why are you doing this? Why be so cruel?
trinity7night (4:27:39 PM): He stole something from me.
Degravedi (4:27:54 PM):
What did he steal?
trinity7night (4:28:12 PM): ...I believe you will have to ask him for that.
trinity7night (4:28:16 PM): But he did it 16 years ago.
Degravedi (4:28:45 PM):
Still. How can you justify this? Life is not interchangable. Why punish the son for the sins of the father?
trinity7night (4:31:15 PM): Why punish my son for the sins of Mr. Fairborn?
Degravedi (4:31:11 PM):
Pardon my tongue. It gets the better of me occasionally. We will wait.
trinity7night (4:32:04 PM): ...
trinity7night (4:32:11 PM): My tongue gets the better of me also.
trinity7night (4:32:17 PM): Ignore what I said.
Degravedi (4:32:52 PM):
I'm sorry. But who hurt your son? Fairborn? Why?
trinity7night (4:33:04 PM): I have to leave.
Degravedi (4:33:33 PM):
I doubt I can say anything to stop you. Like I said, we will wait.
trinity7night (4:34:25 PM): I shall leave you a tidbit of information, and to you too, Hyexistenzz.
trinity7night (4:34:42 PM): Channels.

trinity7night (4:35:24 PM): Shorah. And before you start puzzling over what that could possibly mean, it's a fictional word in a fictional language, basically means the same as Aloha.

Edit: btw, Shorah means "peace" in D'ni, from Myst. (Edit2: XD great minds think alike)

Quote:
AIM IM with trinity7night.
4:25 PM
Hyexistenzz: Hi
trinity7night: Who gave you this address?
trinity7night: Ah.. lemme guess.
trinity7night: Mr. Fairborn? Or maybe cissmiace, from Manchester?
trinity7night: Or Degravedi from New Orleans?
Hyexistenzz: Cissmiace is part of group of people that I belong to. we're helping Mr. Fairborn
Hyexistenzz: but i suppose if you want to talk about sources, didn't you give us this address in your riddles?
trinity7night: Indeed. But I did not know about you, Hyexistenzz.
Hyexistenzz: I'm sorry, I guess i'm being rude by just approaching you like this, without even introducing myself
trinity7night: Never ask for forgiveness, only permission.
Hyexistenzz:
Hyexistenzz: So then, may i ask for permission to question you about this whole business?
4:30 PM
trinity7night: Manners.
trinity7night: That's good.
trinity7night: I have to leave
Hyexistenzz: oh.
Hyexistenzz: that's unfortunate
Hyexistenzz: will you be back?
trinity7night: no
Hyexistenzz: but we've only just begun to talk
Hyexistenzz: And I think you're much more interesting than Fairborn
Hyexistenzz: so I'd really like to talk to you
trinity7night: I have to.
trinity7night: I shall leave you a tidbit of information, and to you too, Degravedi.
Hyexistenzz: thank you, i appreciate it
trinity7night: Channels.
4:35 PM
trinity7night: Shorah. And before you start puzzling over what that could possibly mean, it's a fictional word in a fictional language, basically means the same as Aloha.
trinity7night has gone offline.

Shorah is from the game Myst

Maybe we're looking for a chatroom named Shorah...but i'm on the chat-solutions thang right now and no one is in room #shorah.

Bah, I hope it's not something about IRC. I'm so IRC illiterate it's ridiculous.

Some background info on Shorah to help with the channel search:

Greeting used by people who have played the Myst game "Uru". It means "Peace" in the D'ni language.

I've looked in #shorah, #myst, #uru, #peace and #d'ni and I'm all by my lonesome in each room. Tho I could just be in there at the wrong time, so who knows.

EDIT: I'm not even sure i'm on the correct server...so this could be as difficult as trying to guess the cryptic crossword word without knowing how many letters are in the word we're looking for.

What if he isn't hinting about an IRC Channel about Myst, but is instead pushing us towards a Channel within Myst?

I've only ever finished the original Myst (it's time to pop Riven back in), but one world's puzzles was based almost entirely on channeling water through different pipes.

Granted, an IRC Channel is more likely as that would be an easier place to leave further messages.

Just an idea, YouTube also sections vids into "channels". I've had a look round searching for:

trinity
trinity7night
trinitysevennight
paradox
fairborn

but no joy. Probably a dead end but thought it was worth a mention.

Still a great idea! It could very well be, but once again I think we have to wait for more information from the characters before we'll get anywhere.
