Anyone think it's a good idea to (subtilly) tell our newfound security-expert friends about the virus-laden "hacked" site we found earlier ? Maybe if we connect two parts of this ARG together, some electricity will start flowing?

I thought about that too! maybe it would bee a good idea to tell them about it . Not sure though how they are going to react. But, it is worth a shot!
But I would just ask them about it. And I wouldn't link it. If its a legit virus site we don't need to post it any more that we already have.

Apparently, the sentries have created a secret "Retreat" forum in SO for all of the old-timers to discuss our arrival there and our claiming that Ms. St. Feline sent us.
Thankfully, Xestrix managed to gain access to these secret forums, and has made a Wiki page with a recount of the goings on in there for our viewing pleasure.

How much damage could a couple of people be? What are they going to do? Meticulously copy and paste every one of our bickering messages to some secret discussion board and snicker?
If they prove to be lying we can tar and feather them later, after all.

MKaos's comment about the Craigslist posting and HPhack's comments about physics both struck me as interesting. I wonder what took MKaos by surprise and what HPhack's past experience is.

Could you please copy & paste (with a quote) which post(s) you are refering? Our memories get short (and new players may not have read the SO post or recall which one you are specifically making a reference). Yeah, I'm confused so I need a little help. Thanks!

But here's the truth: There's absolutely no way that I'm involved in setting this up. You
probably won't buy it, but you'll just have to. There's just no way. It's not me. I don't pee
in my own pool. I know I pick and that I'm an ass (though I'd like to think "a lovable one"),
but I do respect all of you, and I wouldn't want to screw with this place to prove something.
So could this be Brian Clark himself??? I'll be very interested in finding out who wrote which character....those of you who played WiBS have plenty of experience (didn't one of those guys also do a character in Monster Hunter Club???).

Aside from meta speculation, I'm interested in HPHack. I smell weakness.
How to use that, I'm not sure yet, but I feel like he's an entry point of some sort.

My money is on the odd man out "GetMEout" I think I will try to move in on him. Play the "everyone is against you, but I'll be your friend card"

No problem. Both from the Laying It Out There thread.

I don't know about you, but I get wiggy even at fake psychics. And some of those Craigslists post are menacing to say the least. It is a creepy damn story. When you know things go bump in the night you nail them down so they don't do that anymore.
Kevin, have you ever been in love and had your heart broken? You learn something about how much you end up risking without realizing it. And then you can look back to the beginning and see the seeds of the destruction with the clarity of hindsight.
Suggesting that HPhack has had some sort of a negative experience with psychics and mystical types in the past. And there you go!

Looks like the site is down right now.
You are naughty, Phaedra
I registered without the "mis" but plan to lay low to see how it goes. I didn't think about it, but since I moronically stuck with sphinx, I suppose I could pretend to be a Bast associate/follower/nutcase and irritate them even further. Or more likely, I will remain lurking in the depths

I was trying on themagician/Bryce [offered to help with the crash recovery] earlier today, but he was too suspicious.

It would be easy to go in the forum acting like that website infected your computer and being all p-o'd about it then asking them what they thought of it and what would they suggest to prevent the infection.
