Lack of [INTERACTION]

I seem to have developed an invisibility problem. It's been almost 2 weeks since I received anything, email or pm, in spite of responding to every one I did get and even initiating a few myself. Confused I guess I don't have "the right stuff." Crying or Very sad

Re: Lack of [INTERACTION]

It's a pity but I wouldn't take it personally, WolfHawk. I think it's just a general problem with the way this particular game works. With almost everything going on behind closed doors, so to speak, in private messages between the PMs and select players, then sadly it's inevitable that some players are going to get missed out. There's only a limited amount of emails that an in-game character can answer.

When I first started playing this I tried really hard to contact the characters and reply to any messages I got; but I got ignored too, so eventually I got bored and stopped playing. I still drift in and out to see if anything major has happened but I've completely lost track of what's going on in the plot now - mainly because I personally have no involvement in it.

Personally, I think it's a major flaw in the system that the PMs have never addressed. There must be a small handful of players who are completely involved in the thick of the action and are having a really amazing and immersive experience. But for the vast majority of us who are stuck on the sidelines with little character interaction and only the very occasional puzzle to look forward to, unfortunately, it's pretty tedious.

Sorry to put a downer on it Embarassed - hopefully it will pick up for you. Maybe the PMs have just been on holiday or something Wink .

Fujimoto told me that he is busy completing his doctorate and that this is why he has been poor on the communication front. I think this was a veiled IG game way of saying that the puppet masters are busy with school (they would be close to the end their last semester of the year) and so they cannot commit as much time as they would like. Remember, this is being run out of the University of Dallas so there you have it.

I have been having a lot of difficulty communicating with characters too in terms of lag and downtime, so I do not think it is exactly what you think. I would try and organize some kind of thing amongst players but the fact of the matter is that I am aligned with neither DefenseCorp nor the Brotherhood. In fact I am working pretty counter to both sides of the Deus City coin and there are few players who take the same stance and thus little to work on together.

Plus, most players seem woefully disinterested in the leads that I am following.

I'm not really taking it personally; I'm basically getting pretty bored myself with the whole thing. I know the PMs are students - remember that week or two of nothing right about the time spring break hit?

I'm supposedly a member of the Brotherhood but I have no clue what that means other than we are supposed to be locating "missing pages." You can see the all out effort going on as we try to do so. Not to mention the increasingly dangerous interference coming from the other factions. Rolling Eyes

I hear from them all the time, but it's nothing that's important to the game, I'll let you know when something important does. I just keep idle talk up

Hm. I had never noticed that deadlag until it was mentioned. I'm a student too, and right now I'm a bit knee-deep in finals. Not fun at all! So I can understand if the PMs are near my age and frantically working. That plus running a site can't be easy.

And some of them still answer. I guess it's just all in the timing; I've noticed that if I do something in the morning, the next day I've got a reply. Maybe it's time difference playing a role too.

Still, it'd be nice if they introduced more in-game characters for that reason. Or something similar.
