So we're stuck on Blocks. What if we take "Look Behind You" from Myrrh and apply it to the Blocks page?

Blocks solving

There's a forum, where the old tormented ones (Sluggy and the band Very Happy ) discussing the Blocks. The Tormentor himself(!) posted a clue on this forum.

If my mind is good someone solved the "Look behind you" page, and it's a dead end like "Final" and the others.

So, the Blocks forum:

I thought this way is the right one, too. There's a mysterious cipher, what was solved somehow, but not by E.A.Poe. Many years later, by a man,( I can't remember right now, what was his name), but it's mentioned by a Poe cipher 'fan club' page. The cipher was sent by WB Tyler, and it's written with this rotated letters, just like on the blocks.

I'm starting to sniff around... Cool

I inspected and read many things about the WB Tyler cipher, and the solving by Gil Borza. But in the WB Tyler text there's different kind of encrypting, such as lowercasing the letters or even invert them, etc. BUT NOT rotating into different postions, as we can see in the blocks. Any idea? Or I just derailed everyone from the right track Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I don't know. Maybe...
But the picture on the Shadow's circle cipher didn't help me to find the way of solution. I remember I typed "circle sign sipher" in Google, and found the Shadow novel.

ok.. I am going to put out there where I am...

There are many unsolved ciphers in the world Kryptos, Voynich, Zodiac, and the one from E. A Poe are a few of them.

2 of them we have seen referenced previously

So I would think we are on the right trak.

Block ciphers are complicated to solve by hand and I am not on my computer...

But now the choice block or Zodiac.. as referenced a few posts ago .. there is only 1 special character in the blocks... but that symbol is turned.. creating a few special char. 3 if I am not mistaken.

*edit*
Also, if we look at how all of the other puzzles are solved I think we might see a pattern, I was looking last night and my sight was blurry.

I agree for the Zodiac now...
*EDIT
Where can I find the translated Zodiac 378 cipher? I can only find the 340.

Btw, Someone can send me a link the to the Shadow's novel with the circle cipher? I can't remember the title.

yes it is.. but 2 clues GG has given are a direct lift from that Prose.

or did he just give the clues on the tweleve website...

"Ye who read are still among the living; but I who write shall have long since gone my way into the region of shadows. For indeed strange things shall happen, and secret things be known, and many centuries shall pass away."

AND

" And to our chamber there was no entrance save by a lofty door of brass: and the door was fashioned by the artisan Corinnos, and, being of rare workmanship, was fastened from within."

correction....

If you will excuse the intrusion of a newbie, a fuller version of that quote from Poe would be

"....we sat, at night, a company of seven. And to our chamber there was no entrance save by a lofty door of brass: and the door was fashioned by the artisan Corinnos, and, being of rare workmanship, was fastened from within."

Could this be a reference to the incorporation of a core base-seven numerical encryption? Afterall, he has previously used other encryption including hexidecimal (base 16).

Just a random thought, guys

Cheers

Bilal: U linked the same sentence! Very Happy

Domenic: Good one, give it a shot. But I can't imagine how could we make numbers from the letters, to make a code seven encryption. Question
