Something's up with Harrisonburg - other than the arablish has anyone found anything else in common with them?

The whole phrase is for this weeks Harrisonburg CL is:

Quote:
a mayyitan ma qadirun yatabaqa sarmadi
fa itha yaji ash-shuthath al-mautu qad yantahi.

Which when translated means:

Quote:
That is not dead which has the capacity to exist eternally,
And if the abnormal (bizarre, strange) ones (things, times?) come, then death may cease to be.

Note that Yoji Ash-Shuthath has also been theorized to be a reference to Yog-Sothoth.

Yeah, I found similar references claiming the same thing.

Quote:
One Arabic phrase, yaji ash-shuthath, perhaps gives a clue to a deeper mystery. It is plural, and it literally means 'the abnormal', referring to people or to things, depending on the context. Yaqi means 'comes' or 'are coming'. Colloquial Arabic often transforms the soft j-sound into a hard g-sound and many times the vowel endings are left off and the words slurred together, as we often do in English. Therefore a possible rendering of this phrase in colloquial Arabic would be yag-shuthath, with a slight change in the quality of the vowels easily recognisable as Yog-Sothoth.

From The Necronomicon

"la mayyitan ma qadirun yatabaqa sarmadi
fa itha yaji ash-shuthath al-mautu qad yantahi."

That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die.

Stumbling through the cratered yard, I finally see it. A tube of epoxy and container of plaster. Where does he get this stuff?

Is he trying to help me?

Hurrah! Are we onto something with creating things in the MUD then?

This certainly seems to prove it.

Been busy this past week. Did I miss much? I get the feeling once I get in the MUD again it will look like a totally different place!

EDIT:

The gudugudu is a very important traditional drum used by the Yoruba ethnic group of Nigeria. The Yoruba based religions were also those who revered Exu, whom our Sentry Outpost friend has named himself after. Are the drummer posts speaking about him the same way as the magician ones seem to point to Bryce?

Sure sounds like it.

I haven't been around much over the past couple of weeks. I've had exams and work, and now I have to arrange moving my life from one continent to another, then I'm going backpacking for two weeks around Europe (Yay!) and then I'm actually moving back home.

All this means that my dream catcher will be running all by itself, unmaintained by me. Hopefully it keeps doing so, but I can't guarantee anything. If someone wants the scripts to run on their machine, I'd be happy to give them out, otherwise good luck with the rest of this mystery!

Yesterday, in the first CL post BA talks about the pain in her head and looking for something to kill the pain. I went into the MUD and created a "bottle of aspirin" and left it in the room on the 13th floor. In her 13th post she wrote:

Quote:
Agonizing pain shoots through my head, waking me up and killing any possibility of sleep that I once had. I turn on the coffee maker and reach for the bottle of aspirin.

(bold is mine).
