Typically a familiar is a cat.
But can be other animals. In the MUD there is a dog, PROVIDENCE. Are *we* the familiar (since *we* are Providence)????
Just thinking out loud (and sounding stupid, I know).

New CL post

http://rockies.craigslist.org/mis/342215398.html

Second one today that is missing an apostrophe. Not sure if it means anything -- other than me being picky. Smile

So far the post titles all fit together, "Just another dream + of a girl + listening to drums"...

Does anyone know what the heck is happening in this story now? I'm a bit lost.

I thought the missing apostrophe's pointed to that one password that had the apostrophe? There have been other posts in the past with missing apostrophe's. I think typos are hints from BA just like the rest of the text.

(I told you I have a hard time resisting playing a game. Wink )

Funny - hadn't got around to posting it yet, but I searched 'dove key' and found...

dovekie (also dovekey)
A small black-and-white sea bird (Alle alle) of the Arctic and northern Atlantic oceans, having a short bill and a stout body. Also called little auk.

Dove Key, located west of Rodriguez Key, just offshore of Key Largo.

If It comes out that someone needs to visit Dove Key, then I might be the logical choice unless someone involved is from Florida. Heck, I could even try to get my parents to let me go to Cassadaga.

Ive noticed alot of missing words in more recent craigslists, I think someone has mentioned something similar before about missing punctuation.
I passed it off as simple typos origionally, but they seem to be pretty much in every post now.

For example

Quote:
I walk down into the chaos and make my up the street.

'way' obviously being the missing word.

Its probably nothing, but I thought I'd mention it.

I don't know. It's getting pretty hard to keep writing these off as bad grammar and spelling. I'd imagine this stuff would get proofread before being posted.

So if Bryce is the street magician, why are we (Providence) the one's with blood on our mouth? Was Bryce's breakdown our own fault? I'm wondering what's going to happen when she actually meets him in dream.

I'm most intrigued by the Rockies post so far, especially...

Quote:

Blah blah blah.
Sometimes it's better to think of a name as a description of place and time.

Providence. Providence is not just an abstract form.
He exists in the here and now.
A location. A moment. A name.

So we're looking for something that's a place, moment and name?

Providence is not only a name, but a place. Actually it's got a few definitions. We could really use a couple..

1. Care or preparation in advance; foresight.
2. Prudent management; economy.
3. The care, guardianship, and control exercised by a deity; divine direction
4. God.

There's also a Bryce Canyon in Utah. It's not in the Rockies (the CL area this post is from), but pretty darn close. I'm sure this doesn't mean anything, just thinking out loud.

You would be surprised at how many times you could proofread something, and yet, somehow, the version with the errors ends up being the one that goes public. <wry>

I'm not saying they're not clues, but I wouldn't rule out typos just yet. Smile

perhaps someone can generate a quick script that will filter through all the cities on craigslist for new updates?

geo.craigslist.org lists the countries with all their cities (not all listed on about/cities.html)

countries include:
us/ca/gb/de/in/fr/it/mx/cn/au/jp/za/br/ch/nz/es/il/ru
that is, append the country code to http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/ and you get the cities for that country

that's a lot of cities to check.

craig, why no global search? Sad

If no one has done so already, I can write such a script.

has someone claimed the rockies package (if there is one) or should I since I'm in the metro-denver area?
