Talking of codes ... I was given the answer to 14, and nobody I know has actually worked out how it works.

I've tried several different code types, but it just doesn't fit any of them.
You'd think having the answer would help, but I just can't spot it.
The fact that the one and only repeated letter is the same in both the coded and decoded version suggests that it is a simple substitution. But working out what that substitution is based on is just beyond me.

Anyone managed to work it out ?

Haven't gotten there yet.

You're way ahead of a lot of us.

How did you get past floor 22 "John's girl's home."???

just a hint would be nice.

I already know it doesn't seem to refer to John Lennon.

Tried headphones, earphones, earplugs, eardefenders all no go.

Is this another american thing again? Rolling Eyes

*SPOILER ALERT*

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Basically, this gives it away, but the 4 lines are a visual representation of the first 4 frets on a guitar. The numbers are the fingerings of 3 chords. These 3 chords make up the solution. There's no 'code' of sorts.

I fluked that one.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you're thinking of Lennon, think of what his home country is. And think of what John's girl's home country is. What do they both have in common?

hope it helps

Whoever you are, you're wrong. Very wrong.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The correct person you need to think of is Elton John. He wrote a song called <something> girl. It's very easy if you search google or Wikipedia.

no he wasn't wrong. he was very clever. He took my path of thinking and made it work.

Both clues would work to achieve the same conclusion.

24

On 24 _ Johns' _ is... plural possessive ("John" x 2)?, singular possessive ("Johns" x 1)?

Kinda not sure what to look for there. Well, obviously... John, something. But I exhausted all my John leads & ended up in stumpsville.

I'm stuck on 23. The Ladies' girl. I've tried every group of Ladies I can think of following the pattern from previous clues, and I've gone outside that box with other things, too. But I'm stumped. Any non-giveaway clues?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
How long have you been stuck? has it been one week? Try a group which has "Ladies" in its title rather than a group of Ladies

Floor 14

I'm going to assume that I'm the only one still stuck on floor 14. I realize it has to do with the chords and frets. I've googled guitar chord pictures searching for a pattern, but still can't figure out the answer.
