MayDay Mystery annual update

The only thread which discussed this MayDay Mystery thing was locked and archived long ago, here. Every year, the Mystery has had a single update, and this year the tradition continues. (Clicking on the May 1, 2007 link loads a gianormous image, so be patient.) I'm only passing along the info, as it was passed along in chat earlier today, as an oddity.

Wow, I just have to applaud the depth to which someone has gone in creating this. To keep on a project for over ten years? That's amazing.

I agree this is amazing. I'd love to dive into about 30 years of annual puzzles, but just finding the time for something like that is challenging enough.

Just looking at this most recent puzzle the ISBN numbers and quote is from Christianity and the Transformation of the Book: Origen, Eusebius, and the Library of Caesarea by Anthony Grafton and Megan Williams.
The quote "Constanine's accession turned prophesy into history" is on page 231. You may have to be logged onto Amazon to see the page here.

The left side references The Book of Zephaniah and 1:18 is
Quote:
Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah's fury; but by the fire of his zeal the whole earth will be devoured, because he will make an extermination, indeed a terrible one, of all the inhabitants of the earth.

It looks like two maps in the background, the map on the top is London, and I'm pretty sure the bottom is Johannesburg, South Africa. I haven't found an original source or even anything very close though.

The hebrew characters in the middle of the page are "YHVH" or Yahweh, the name of God.

Thats what I got so far, this is really fun to research Very Happy . I'll add anything else I find.
