The parchment compass puzzle

Each spoiler tag builds on the spoiler before it, progressively giving more away. The topmost spoilers are merely gentle nudges in the proper direction. The solution is at the bottom.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Layman translation of the clue:
To begin your hunt for the treasure
Use the center of this marker
Along with turning the compass needle
To reveal the first location

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Using line 3, try clicking and dragging the parchment so that the compass needle moves over the empty spaces.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Even if you've made a full revolution, some spaces may still be empty. Maybe you should pay attention to one of the poem's other lines.

Using line 2, try placing the center of the compass over other parts of the screen while moving the compass needle over empty spaces.

Now you've got all the empty spaces filled, but how does that translate into a location? Check out what format your next destination will be in by clicking on the Next Destination link at the top of the screen.

So the next destination will be ----N ----W

Since the solution is coordinates, the answer must only be numbers not letters.

Those are not "i"s, they are "1"s.

So you have the eight numbers you need. What hint on the parchment might tell you what order they go in?

The only non number is an N.

From the Next Destination link you should see that there is also an N in the solution.


Solution:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
2231 N 8135 W or http://thehunt.volvocars.net/us/2231N8135W
Since the N is already designated on both the parchment and the Next Destination link; and we also know from typing random characters in the Next Destination link that there are four numerals before the N and four after; the four numerals on the parchment before the N are also the numerals placed before the N in the solution. The numerals on the parchment are read clockwise from the south end of the compass, thus giving 2231N8135.
