I just went and read the May 5 CL postings, something I should have done first. Rolling Eyes

I can safely say you can ignore my previous spec. The CL postings definitely seem to be from the same "universe" as the letter, and my theory has nothing to do with the CL postings.

In the CL postings, BA seems to be either going mad or slipping in and out of either the future or some alternate reality. Especially this post:

Quote:

That's what was missing. That's what was wrong.

There was no smoke. There weren't any fires. There were no screams.

It was just the City.

Without warning, panic strikes. I don't know where I am. I don't know how to get back. I'm lost. I'm lost in a creation of my own mind. The absurdity of it all just makes it worse. For the first time in days, I feel the anguished cry rise from inside of me.

You see me succumb to the madness. You pull me off the street. You keep me safe. And then you leave....

And apparently DC is the one who has been sending us the craigslists? That doesn't even make sense, but that's what this sounds like:

http://bsuwiki.arghive.com/Craigslist_Postings/May_5#Kansas_City

Quote:
You: Dreaming

Me: Awake

The tears dissolve any hope I had of sleep - another night lost to headaches and dreams. I turn on the coffee maker and reach for the phone. The dial tone drills into my brain; each number presses deeper than the last. A conversation would be impossible gibberish at best. It doesn't matter. You know what to do. You will get someone to go. They will walk in the shop. Her ears will perk up when they mention my name. She will hand them a note which I will never read and part of me will never hold.

I have faith.

I'll bseeingu
BA

Also, the Duane one is really funny now that I know it's talking about a coffee shop.

I think it's a pharmacy....which [not being in the US] I still found funny reading after the fact. Wink

Odd how BA and DC are the reverse equivalents of ABCD....if we run into an AT, we might be in trouble.

So DC painted the watercolor?

I've been trying to figure that out. It's got some weight to it and looks sculpted as opposed to cast. It's a bit porous as well, so I'm guessing it's some sort of natural clay. I believe it's painted since it's a bit tacky. The end looks filed off and is lighter in color with a few black streaks. Also looks like a hint of metal poking out of it, though I'm guessing it may be the armature used to make it.

So my somewhat tongue-in-cheek spec earlier was that DC may live between Avenues D & C in Alphabet City.

EDIT: maybe sinyx should call up B.A. and inform her that you picked up the package meant for her and that you now have the angel's finger. See how she responds to that..

I just wonder when we'll meet FE.

What do you all think we need to do next?

You realize that is quite a unique and great piece of arg swag you've got there Wink if you ever make it to an argfest, it'll need to go in the arg museum =)

We need to find the angel and reunite her with her finger.

http://manchester.craigslist.org/mis/322986154.html

After which, perhaps a kloo will be revealed.

Maybe here? http://www.evpcnyc.org/marble/marble2.html

Doubtful, since it is usually closed to the public, but who knows.....

Nice job. I'm glad you went out to get the package, it was a fantastic day yesterday but I had a previous commitment to go birdwatching, which I did.

Well done!!!!

More wild spec:

I mentioned Lucid dreaming on the SO forum, but what about Remote Viewing?
Remote viewing is even used in the army, to view certain hostage situations from afar. Also, theres a theory you can travel to any plane, any world, any place whilst remote viewing. - Akin to out of body experiance while sleeping.

Edit: Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before (hooray for memory loss) but theres a 'Cemetery of the Gate Of Heaven'

Another edit: Theres also some angels at Green Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn.

I actually looked long and hard at Green-Wood...but I thought the distance might be a prohibitive factor. I found a few angel statues there missing fingers.

In my mind, I've ruled out both marble cemteries. In addition to having no gravestones [she mentions walking paths between them] they have no "view". Green-Wood definitely has the view.....but it's a little far from where we're at right now no? Maybe the cemetery she speaks of isn't something we'll be able to find, maybe it only exists in her dreams, or her plane of existence?

Quote:
The path to the angel is well-worn from my nightly visits. I sit on the ground and lean up against the cold stone base.
Even from this low on the ground, the view is spectacular.

[META] Obviously the PMs didn't break a finger off a cemetery statue so either this angel is non-existent in our world or they've recreated a finger for a statue missing one.

Maybe this is near some sort of housing complex with a repeating architecture?

Maybe what we want is not necessarily AT a cemetery, but an obvious location between the cemetery and housing complex?

I actually went in during the open house yesterday since we had talked about this place before. It only had one human statue and she wasn't missing any fingers.

There were quite a few community gardens near there as well (3 on 2nd Street alone!) and I checked them out as well. No statues though. I could always check out Greenwood if needed, even though it does seem a bit far from the area B.A. was dreaming of. That's actually closer to me than Alphabet City, though it's HUGE.

I know it's not really going to be from a real statue, but there's nothing to stop them from making a fake finger for a statue that's already missing one already.

So what does everyone think... Should I leave a message for B.A. saying I have her package? I don't want to make any moves without discussing it first.
