The crab and sand puzzle

Where the rising veins
Draw stains of blood
I saw crabs draw patterns
In the mud

Each spoiler tag builds on the spoiler before it, progressively giving more away. The topmost spoilers are merely gentle nudges in the proper direction. The solution is at the bottom.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Layman translation of the clue:
Where roots leave the ground
And leave red marks
Moving crabs reveal the solution
In the sand

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Look for a hotspot with roots and crabs.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Crabs can't draw patterns if they aren't moving.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Continue clicking on the crabs until a pattern starts to reveal itself.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The solution is not the pattern that the crabs are making in the sand, but rather what they reveal by pushing sand aside as they move.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The dark reddish brown part are what you are trying to reveal.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
As of yet, a way has not been found to control which way the crabs move. You just have to keep clicking on them and patiently wait until they've completely revealed the whole pattern.


Solution:

Patience in clicking on the crabs until all the sand is removed from the "red stains" reveals the answer to be read left to right, top to bottom.
